Thank you for the welcome. I am very new to this game and of course am very limited to what i can do. I do not have a debit card or credit card so PED is gonna be very rare for me. Is the an alternative way to deposit $$ so that i can get ped? I do have a checking account i can use to get PED. Does EU use sites like paypal or anything else for an instant transfer? An echeck would seem to take ages to clear and I am very eager to start to raise mining/combat skills. Thank you!!

I think there may be other ways to deposit, but I cannot check that until later when I get to a different computer.

As a new colonist on Calypso, I would recommend browsing the guides section in the forum for the maps, and setting off to collect the TPs (teleporters). Often you can meet fellow explorers who will run with you and chat along the way. Collecting TPs lets you explore the countryside, get a feel for the controls and settings, and absorb some of the storyline and atmosphere of EU. Best of all, it is free :D, and although being chewed on by the wild creatures can be annoying, in the process you actually begin to gain some very useful skills. I mention this only because there is a lot to see and experience without needing to deposit, and this also gives you time to learn some of the traps of what NOT to waste peds on. ( I still remember strutting out into the sunlight in my brand new shiny Settler armour and wondering why everyone was pointing and laughing.) ](*,)

You can also slowly gain a few peds by gathering sweat from some of the creatures, and selling it to other players. This can get you a basic weapon and ammunition from the TT terminal, so that you can take some revenge on the beasts that keep biting you, and possibly loot enough to buy some more ammo.

Welcome Archane lani. I think that Burgerman offers some very good advice. Don't waste your money on Settler armor, you're probably better off with none than to use that. Also, take some time to learn how to play, you'll waste less PED that way when you do get some.

Trying to buy instant gratification in this environment will only frustrate you, or so I've seen so take you time to meet some people, learn to identify the scammers, learn how the auction and Trade Terminals (TT) work. Basically, find some people you can trust and learn from them. There are quite a few to be found if you take the time to look around.

And, of course, use this forum for all its worth. There are so many knowledgeble people and forums here. We're not #2 on EU's top 10 for nothing.
