Maybe I'm just being pessimistic but it sounds like just maybe MA are struggling to implement CryEngine and need some expert help :).
I dare to say that the game will surely have great graphics from now on :) I remember from when I first started EU that people already were bugging MA for better graphics. Perhaps all this wait all those years was for EU to become as realistic as possible. And here I am being optimistic to balance the thread mood :D Good Luck MindArk! :) A question about this: Does it mean that also the character movements will finally be more realistic?
Sounds like this will be very good promo for Nvidia, but what will happen to ppl who don't, or do not want to go the Nvidia route, such as ppl who have ATI cards for instance.
Most likely not but it should mean that we loos the lag in how the game draw each frame and hopefully eliminate pixel loss
ATI and NVIDIA are very close to each other in terms of coding. Also I think it would be a headshot for MA if they decide to continue only with Nvidia for the game. This would mean that nearly 50% of the players are not able to play anymore.
After playing Crysis for the past week, if the new EU looks even half as good as Crysis we are all in for a fantastic treat. :D I agree it would be nice to see ATI involved as well, but perhaps there is no way ATI and Nvidia would be interested in both being so involved with EU. They might insist on the "exclusive" aspect of EU only naming one brand of graphics card? Either way, they are both great brands of card, and the newer models of either ATI or Nvidia should help make the new Cry-EU look spectacular.
Did I misunderstand or are we getting 30 loots with "GeForce 9800"-item? Heheh, I wonder if those can be sold in auction.
Yes, it appears that these real world items will appear as rare items in loots. I guess it might work in a similar manner to previous real world items, where the loot contains a token for the item. The token can be traded, and when activated the item is sent to the real world address of the person who is holding the token when activated. But that is just a guess, only MA knows for sure. And if you TT the token they will change the rules again anyway! :rotfl:
