  1. Oh boy this has been a great, but also weird evening at Calypso :) A few hours ago I attended the "Formidon Friday" event at Rei's nice Formidon LA for the first time. It is a very cool "highest single loot win" one-hour event with great people and lots of fun in the event chat channel.

I arrived at the landmarker about 10 minutes before the starting time at 21:00. I saw almost nothing but cK members and other well-known hunters, and there I came running in with my trusty P5a pistol, with probably half the dmg/sec of what some of the other participants had :D I was a total underdog, but in "single highest loot win events" anything can happen... ;) I decided to join the event anyway, I had heard Rei always put off some bad jokes in the event chat channel, and the fee was only a measly 4 PED. So I signed up for some good laughs and to study some big ubers in action :)

I figured I would get a hard time getting any mobs at all (apart from competing with all those great hunters, the Formidon spawn ain't very dense) so a few minutes before 21:00 I ran off a bit to find a few mobs :hehe:

It wasn't that bad, there were enough mobs even for me :) But the loot started out quite bad, the biggest one I got for the first 40 minutes was on about 11 PED, which had put me on 15th place (of 22) on the scoreboard. Quite many globals had come in always followed by lot of gratses in the event chat channel from the other participants. I had a good time laughing at the jokes in the chat and slowly wearing down the Formis in my own pace :) And then, all of a sudden, bang:

Yeay, a very nice 94 pedder which brought me up to a fifth place at the time! With a 12 PED ESI! :ok:

I was very satisfied with my effort, had made a nice profit as well thanks to the ESI. With about 5 minutes left "Lee Mundo Chis" from cK Shadows was in the lead with a 204 pedder. But then this happened:

Wehoo, what a finish! 317 PED for me, an Isis LR59(L) (will be able to sell it for about 700 PED)! It turned out to be the biggest loot of the event! :pulp:

HOWEVER... somehow the event system had screwed up. It didn't register my HoF, so technically I didn't win the event even though I apparently had gotten the biggest loot. The scoreboard still had me on 6th place with my old 94 pedder. Not a very big deal however, I missed out on the 240 PED which was the first prize, but I got a very nice HoF and loot worth almost 1k PED. So I'm not too sad about it. Both me and the land owner Rei have filed support cases about it though, so we will see how it turns out. At least it might help prevent it from happening again.

Great evening however! Especially happy about beating all the uber hunters with my little Breer P5a :hehe:

I definitely recommend taking part in some of the cool events being hosted on the LAs of Amethera. It's a lot of fun, and on "highest single loot win" events like Formidon Friday, everyone has a quite good chance of winning as well.

Oh, and here are two team globals from earlier today as well. Killed some Troxes with Nutter on a very intense hunt. Had a sore trigger hand afterwards LOL
