Aahhh... the EGG and Deathifier

He said that mid of last year iirc, for sure less than 12 months ago...

and i guess exactly that line was what drove the price up now.

 

if memory serves me, the whole expectation is based on the description of the egg, saying it was "vibrating, as if waiting" or something. so ND brought it on a whim, a fancy of what might be - such as is his character. Did MA feel they needed to amend plans to accomodate the new value? only a few there will ever know. im not sure anything more is promised now, which is why i question Deathifier's purchase, as he doesnt seem prone to whimsical fancies.

 

claiming 'it will take your breath away' - is a statement! Maybe it wasn't meant like that, but I'm sure afterwards it came to MA's attention, that people (or most people) took that serious enough! And then they might have felt they needed to keep their promise. I too do not believe it was meant to be 'taking your breath away' when it was looted, other than from the smell of a rotten egg. But the buy changed that! I'm still convinced Deathifier doesn't know more than the rest of us - but hoping the feature MA comes up with will be breathtaking - and worth it.

That would indicate that there really was not a lot of plan for the egg other than to get it from the feffs and destroy it.

As for it will take your breath away, perahaps the announcement that it is nothing more than a unique decoration will take someone's breath away!

To tell you the truth, I do admire a person who is wise, visionary, or insane enough to do such a thing… after all, if someone can afford it, why the hell not? The uncertainty over what it is, all the speculations and theories about it, almost gave it a mystical aura. I suspect that the Atrox that laid the thing was nicknamed Faberge… and who wouldn’t want to have an egg with that pedigree?

The whole thing feels to me like I’m witnessing one of those once in a lifetime moments, when somebody puts a boatload of their money on 18 red at the roulette table... whatever happens is nobody else’s business, only the player, the rolling ball, and the moods of the Gods matter... all the rest is chatter from the insignificant sidelines. In that game we –- the sideline people-- are entitled only to a few begrudgingly admiring “uuughh's” and “ahhhh's” from the margins.

Even if nothing happens and the EGG turns out to be a dud, your name will certainly hit the headlines again. Publicity like that is priceless…

I can really understand the thrill and exitement about the egg and have been curious about it myself since the day I heard about it. Going to be interesting to follow what will happend with the circus surrounding it.

I myself put my bet that there is some DNA thingy in it that will give the owner a special mob. Will it be worth the investment? That we cannot judge and won't know until a long time after it has been hatched etc. It might repay itself in a year, or maybe ten. And it all comes down to the owners thought if it was worth it or not, the rest of us just have opinions.

So has anything happend? Sure would be nice if the egg gets included in the next updates. Hopefuly as owner you will be informed what to expect.

Uhm, obviously because it's an insane amount of money for a virtual item that has no function.

PS. or at least didn't have any function for years now, and unfortunately if it ever does get a cool use it seems unfair to everyone else who paid for other items that didn't get any use.

Odd one to Necro, although I was discussing this with Az the other day... sorta a "what did Deathifier get out of it in the end"? We were thinking that maybe it was simply the event around TI during the time at which the egg was stolen. Guessing he didn't see any benefit from the Wistrox event ,-)

it was a simple MA screwing what helped make it what it is... I had forgot about it actually.. thou we still joke about it in AW all the time.
