About maintenance fees

I have Edge browser. It's built in. Unfortunately Microsoft removed the best voice recently. I've switched to an irish one instead.

 

It always makes me happy to see our group grow. I hope you find your work here to be as fulfilling and rewarding as it is challenging.

 

Nah. Historically it was a whole new browser engine that was super fast. Alas they ditched that though in favour of supporting a unified approach to web browsers using the engine that chrome uses which I think might be open source. So basically it could be thought of as microsoft coming up with a browser that they like without the world needing to really worry about supporting another browser. It's still pretty fast and not as cumbersome resource wise as Chrome. It has some nice features like this mode that makes the screen nice and devoid of crap making it much easier to read a news article, it also has these neural voices that are really good Text to Speech.

 

I used to use Opera a lot back in the day. Great browser. Then they decided it "needed simplifying" and took away all the features that made it great. I never got round to installing it again. I think I heard that it maybe reneged on that decision but no idea really. No idea what it uses under the hood these days either. Have you ever read those comics someone made where they depicted all the browsers and some search engines as anime girls? it's kinda hilarious. The things Chrome does to poor little Bing...
