[STRIKE]Mr. Andersen...[/STRIKE] Hi, It has come to our attention that certain people have been using proxy servers to try and work their way around a ban they got. I would like to inform these people that this does not mean that we cannot figure out who they are, and that it is perfectly possible to block proxy servers from accessing our little neck of the interwebs altogether. Instead, if these people somehow feel their ban was ill deserved, they are more than free to contact me and we can discuss the reasoning behind their ban... [STRIKE]One of these options has a future. Right. As the message clearly did not come across, the offending person has been banned, and I'll be putting in place some more strict proxy measures to prevent him from coming back.
Whover it was behind the account I don't know but it was the account "Aesstreld" I believe. Btw, I'm not defending him in anyway but what did shinobi do in the first place to get banned from his first account? I'm guessing something over PM's... Or maybe I should just not care at all.. Yeah let's do that.
Cmon guys, I already made a mention that Aesstreld is NOT Shinobi at all. Any reason why you do NOT want to take my word for it? Should I ask my Mom to confirm this as fact? Or even ask Shinobi to contact you about this? Is there also some way that you may have confirmed him, Aesstreld, using a proxy server to access this forum? If so how? Was Aesstreld banned already from EPF whereupon he needed to use a proxyserver? I did warn him NOT to start with psycho-religio babble here, did he carry on doing it? Cos if so I sure missed it.
It is a common misconception that one is anonymous behind a proxy. I will not go into detail here (dont wanna help them with cheating ;) ), but most of them forward quite a lot of information to the destination server.
I do not believe Aesstreld is Shinobi, but I do know for a fact that the guy was using a proxy. How? Simple. A reverse lookup of his ip revealed that the addressname contained "proxy" in it. Lykke tried PMing him, and got back a whole bunch of hogwash that he has a fundamental right to express his opinion, which I agree with. He is free to express himself, just not here, as he broke the rules. You are free to express your opinion in real life as well, but if I deny you entrance to my house, you cannot circumvent the locks I have and when I try removing you from my house claim you have a right to express yourself, as my ownership of the house combined with the fact that I explicitly denied you entrance before overrules your right to express yourself on my property. The same applies here.
Calm down here, reason I said it was probably Aesstreld who was banned because I noticed that his account was infact banned right after I had read this thread. I never said he was shinobi, noone here did, what I did ask was why Shinobi was banned in the first place. I didn't imply that he was Aesstreld.
I mentioned shinobi, as he had a/several accounts here, but he got banned. I didn't know who was banned. That's why I asked IF it was shinobi.
Ok everyone, I understand, No probs. Just curious with the link between shinobi and the name Aesstreld. When askin Shinobi he did point out that the only time he ever used Proxy was in a different forum called Entropia Reality something or other and never here. He explained also that he has way too much respect for Lykke and Peter to pull any tricks here and he cant even enter or read this forum. He does not even try to, because he feels he left here on his own free will and choice. Sry uncle Peter did not know that and do not want to anger you.
That's okay. There's not much that angers me. In a non-prioritized order here's some stuff: * Work * Not having any beer * Work-related customers * Not having any wine * Not having any cognac * Not having any whisky (!!!!!!) * Old people (Not YOUR old people, of course. OTHER people's old people) * Kids (not YOUR kids, of course. OTHER people's kids) * People * Dogs * People driving too fast * People driving too slow * People driving in front of me, regardless of their speed * Not having 1 gazillion PEDs As you can see, I am quite easy to not piss off.
