Any rumours on some content?

Discussion in 'Next Island' started by Menace, Feb 20, 2011.

  1. The wife and I are real anxious to get back to Next Island. Any rumours on when we're gonna see enough of a content release to start to build an economy?

I'm really getting bummed out about the lack of both updates and customer service up on the island.

  2. Meg?

    Any guestimate on the update?

As I have said in other topics... Yes things are in the works and will be happening soon. As to when I am not at liberty to say. Mainly because we don't know what actually makes the VU until the servers are back up. Even if new things are working properly in the test server build. Sometimes things still do not make it to the live VU.

Now what is worse? Being told what is happening with a VU and then it not happening. Or being surprised with new content and material when you log in after a VU?

In the end I would LOVE to let you all know what is coming and when. If I get the word from the higher-ups I will be glad too.

There is a really nice happy medium. We could be told what types of things you are hoping will go through or have been submitted.

For example, "We have submitted a bunch of bp's, a number of new mobs, and testing on our end is done on the next time travel location and if all goes well they should come through in the next VU which at this point we expect will be on or around "Month" "Date".

We understand that things usually don't go smoothly in life, and they never go smoothly with MA. As long as there are no promises made that can't 100% be kept then it's ok.

We can handle disappointment MUCH BETTER if we are given the truth about the what and why. I think the community is tremendously lenient when given solid information and we turn into angry Papoo when left in the dark. (some of us turn into fire drakes)

Amen Calin (what he said). ND has said on his Facebook that RT is getting a VU next week (already announced earlier anyway), but when asked by Softy he said NI was also, so hopefully something for NI will actually get pushed through by MA this time. Interestingly, ND also published some photos of avatars and mobs that are clearly the Cry2 version, and though the photos from RT content more than ever resemble GTA, it is a tasty thought that we may actually get that update sooner rather than later as well.

I miss NI, on Calypso collecting useless 'acheivements' and very quickly reminded of how desolate the place feels now and why I 'moved'. Will return soon to await update day with fingers crossed.

  6. Sadly he didn't answer whether it was going to be content or just bug fixes. :( Guess we will have to wait and see.

  7. See this is why being a pessimist is a good thing. I expect nothing so if I am wrong I am plesently surprised. On the other hand an optimist is disapointed when they are wrong. :)

  8. well hold off any major awesome stuff till I am done being sick.

    K tnx bai!

  9. in other words MA can completly screw things up like how they did with the "soft launch" of Next Island and NDS has no real control over it.

i am seriously wondering how is it that you can get more economical play out of calypso than NI?
i get FAR more eco from NI without a market then i EVER got out of calypso

  13. the pessimist is right as often as the optimist is, but who do you think is happier on average?

  15. Well you see as a pessimist when your right you get to say, "I told you so", thus you puff up your ego and feel good. And when your wrong your plesently surprised so your in a good mood. An optimist can also say, "Told you so" when they are right, but are disapointed when they are wrong. Thus the optimist spends half as much time in a good mood.
Call it the "Optimistic Pesimist" philosophy. :)
