Article: Next update to Next Island

Do you not think it would have been more efficient to make this announcement at the beginning of the day game time? It was posted at 6:57pm my time East Coast US on the 10th, and I am -5 game time right now, so that would have actually put it into the 11th game time that this announcement was made. There needs to be better communication.

Yes thank you Enzo for posting what you could when you were told to for us. Really sorry the needed update didn't happen and the media unveiling originally planned for yesterday apparently was called off, but then again maybe just as well considering the project has been under such attack from some of the existing community.

I was really looking forward to the first portal being opened, but fingers crossed that will be sooner rather than later. Don't mind a longer beta period, but communication is so ultra important on here and the main website, since beta or not the planet is now live and anyone can (and no doubt will) create accounts and join in. It is understood that the existing calypso and RT player base is not the target audience for NI, but we are for now the ones in the game playing, gathering info and doing bug reports (go go code monkey!) etc, so it's important to try to keep us as well as any new players from being in the dark. NI needs a dedicated community rep like weeks ago to be honest, if one of the forum admins has that job it isn't clear and it should be.

If there is not an official dedicated community rep yet please please tell David Post he really needs one, we really need one, and an active one that both keeps the community informed and guides us through this test period, and also responds to the attacks in a professional and timely manner, which would include hopefully some direct contact/response with MA in regards to the serious accusations of conflict of interest raised towards the planet's development company.

Still looking forward to playing Mr. Post's planet, and in the meantime collecting strange new loot and wondering how it will be used (once it is resized lol).
