Assistance please! For a newbie, who can't upload a picture to forum. :)

    Hi, I'm new to this forum, attracted by that whopping 100ped advert on Caly, unfortunately I can't upload pics (jpegs) to my profile at all. Even with enhanced uploading turned off and the picture cut down to 70kb (half permitted pixels) I get this message (pasted here) ->
    "Fatal error:
    • Could not create file system directory to hold your attachment.
    Unable to proceed with save while $errors array is not empty in class vB_DataManager_AttachmentFiledata in [path]/includes/class_dm.php on line 849"
    Anyone know what I can do please? Oh and BTW, that 100ped is MINE!

    Hi Boo,

    Welcome to the forum :). Sorry about the issues you are having, we are still recovering from an upgrade! I am not sure what the error refers to but I am guessing it is permissions, I have added you to the forum groupies group (not as bad as it sounds). Please try again and let me know how you get on.

    Good luck with the competitions, surprised you are only aiming to win one of them :).

    Still, exactly the same error - the forum has given me my rep from pcf.com and my username, 'goodgrief999' is already taken, which is odd, it must also relate to another forum. No access to that account's password tho'.

    Hi Boo,

    Sorry about the continuing issues. I have made further changes to permissions but I think the issue you are having is in putting up a profile picture and I do not think it will resolve that, in the old days you needed to get a certain amount of rep before you could do this but I suspect this is failing on the upgraded site.

    I have not been able to find anyone with the user name of 'goodgrief999', sometimes sites say a name is taken if they just don't like it for whatever reason. I suspect the rep issue is just coincidence, however I will add to in now and you will be able to see if this makes a difference.

    I am waiting for our admin to get back to me about this.

    Yes, thanks the rep is changing and different from what I thought, the bar under my username looks like pcf.com's rep system.
    I am still gonna take screenys every time I get killed, which is often, and hopefully upload them b4 the end of the competition :)

    Hi guys, sorry for the delay. I'm thinking this is most probably a back-end permissions issue. The host recently upgraded their systems and it has a habit of 'locking down' stuff after an upgrade which stops various vbulletin things working. I'll go take a squiz now...

    Hmmm not terribly sure what's going on here. I can't recreate the fault, but it's entirely possible that something is wrong as I can see some permissions have been reset at some point.

    @boo Could I get you to try again please?
    Sorry for the problems on your first visit but I did upgrade the forum then dump it onto the admins and there are a few strange things hanging around. Talkerbot for one of 'em ;)
