Why is it that we get charged a virtual shipping charge when we want to buy something at auction. I just got to next island and this really pissed me off, the people that haven't come from calypso don't have any decent armor or weapons cause of this B.S. The amount of people on this planet can not sustain its own auction. So in turn they hit us for a virtual shipping fee on a virtual product what kind of rip off is thisThe fee is outrageous they say that we are manipulating the prices at auction yeah right it's mindark getting way to greedy.
We get charged a virtual shipping fee, as MindArk has explained multiple times, because the worlds are meant to operate as independent entities and not simply new land areas. Goods and services from one world to the other are meant to be difficult to come by. This is because all the planets are financially separate from one another. This isnt a giant communist pool where everyone is sharing. Items taken from Calypso to Next Island equal money lost by SEE/FPC. The same works for items taken from Next Island to Calypso. What we need are native blueprints, not a huge influx of foreign garbage that wont be compatible with Time Travel mechanics.
Magyar pretty much hit it on the head. Some people are grabing starter gear from Calypso when they are there and selling it in private trade or "drip feeding" it to the AU. Other players have adopted a buy NI only philosophy to help the economy grow. Heck I tailored for the first time in months last week just to add a use for some of the basic materials available on NI.
you know, sid, you could always buy a crate of armour, weapons, and other things you think people on next island would need and trade it for their ores and animal loots.
If it was based on next island that would work but it's not our economy is based on calypso all it is doing is setting unfair practice toward N.I. the same item I could buy in Aland's for 100 ped would cost me 160 here and that is not really fair to us. I came here from calypso and I shelled out the 40 ped to get here. All I am saying is that it's an unfair practice to a place that needs growth. Once the planet gets the population it needs to succeed and sustain its own economy then fine, but until that happens you gotta cut us some slack.
Unfortunately, the auction fees are not something new for NI. Same thing when you want to buy something for Rocktropia or Foma (damn, i can't get used to that name)
What we need is that they finally release Next Island so we get new people in here. Planet partners are meant to build they own player base. when NI is finally launched and the BPs and loot stuff is implemented it will stop depending on Calypso and build its own economy. They are already one month late.
Oh I hope they do that soon. Many of the pioneers have already restricted their online time. I might not be far behind. Or at least restricting my to shorter hunts and more fooling around with vehicles. Please get those BP's out and Time Travel working.
Seconded. I've used my main weapon once a week for the past couple weeks now, switching to lower end newbie style weapons if I want to go out with my soc. While its nice to socialize, when they ask me questions like "So when's time travel coming out" or "When are we getting blueprints" I have to tell them I dont know. When they ask me why I dont know, I have to tell them why.
I guess all in all i'm not sorry that I made the move to N.I, would not trade it for the world. Besides the robots are gonna take over Calypso anyway. LoL
