Avatar information and question

  1. Okay. First: this game has got me excited, but I have a quick question I can't seem to find a clear answer on. Here goes.

So I am excited, I sign up, even though it is not out yet (SOON!!!) and waiting for the pre-release, but I had never played Entropia before (don't know why, just hadn't) so I figure I should at least be more familiar with the controls, interface, etc. So I figure a few days on Planet Calypso might make me more familiar, at least not go into Next Island cold.

Question is...Since I logged into planet calypso to test it out, can I make a new avatar for Next Island, when it is released. I have little or nothing invested in the Avatar running around Calypso (a whole three days, oooo). Or do I HAVE TO spend the 40PED to Transport that character over.

If I have to, can I have my Avatar move over during the beta? or do I have to wait till official release.

    Just curious. If anyone knows...

Your not allowed to have more than one avatar. I would recommend filing a support case to have your current one deleted and start a new one on next island. I know that some people did this when they started on Rocktropia intending to start on Calypso and vice versa.

If you intend to seriously play this game, you will want to make sure the avatar you use is as legit as possible with your real life name age etc... if you ever decide you wanted to withdraw money from the game it would be very difficult to do if you weren't who your account said you were. Hope that makes sense.

Obviously never give personal information to unfamiliar websites or individuals, but MA is safe as can be with their financial transactions.

  3. Yeah, My account info is all kosher. Too bad about having only one Avatar, But I guess it makes sense Now. I probably would not have logged into Calypso had I known this, but I figured, might as well get familiar a little bit...So it is pay the 40PED transport, or have them delete the Calypso Avatar... Are any PEDs one has associated with your account, or the Avatar (so if I have 60PEDs, would they move over?) Just curious... This Game Universe is new to me. Not like I have alot in the Avatar, but no point in loosing anything...

On another note though, Playing on Calypso for a few days, just made me even MORE excited about this....

  4. Another Question.... If I just wanted to travel from Calypso to Next Island, keeping the oh so meager skills and stuff I have, and not have to bother Technical Support (I've done that job, so I try not to bother them, I know how sucky it can be at times) how does one do that? From Athena Spaceport? I am sure I can find someone flying there. A whole UD$4, it's not like its a fortune.

The Spaceships arent functioning yet since vu10, so you can use any of the Teleporters to travel between planets.

You can see how its done (without actually clicking go) now to see how it works.

    1. Go to a telaporter and operate it.
    2. in the top right corner there is a drop down list of all available planets or space stations. Selecting each one will bring up the map for that location instead of the default Calypso one.
    3. Select one of the telaports on that planet/space station and click go just like you would to go to another city on calypso.
    4. A warning message will come up saying "are you sure you want to go there, it will cost x# of ped" and if you select yes, then you will be there.

If you have some ped on your account you may as well just spend the 40ped to tp up when it opens, otherwise it would just be lost anyways.

I hope you will write some reviews and post some screenshots of what you find when you get there because I'm not sure when Ill be able to make it myself :/

  6. screenshots et al

Will do! And thanks for the help. I actually really, really like Calypso, but the idea of exploring a new world is just too hard to pass up, Who knows, maybe I'll come back to Calypso, But I will definitely write up and screenshot my way through Next Island.

If you like exploring new places I think you will not be dissapointed, at the rate they are making new planets now, you will be able to travel to any or all of them as they interest you and your avatar will be growing and progressing the whole time.
