Hi there to all, I left entropia universe just before cry engine starts working, so now,my grafic card does not support the game, my question is: which grafic card is good enought to play in medium/high resolution? i'll buy a new one,but no ideia what to choose -.- if this is not in the correct place,i´m sorry ,first time here, and also sorry for my english ,i'm from portugal. thank's
Hey bruno :) I can't answer your question, but just want to say hi and welcome to EP and welcome back to EU :) I hope you find a good Graphic card solution (Lootius knows, I could use one too ...) ;)
Welcome to EP and back to EU! In the ATI camp I run a Radeon 4350 1GB which is just enough to run medium/high. I have it in a quad core system with 4GB of acknowledged memory. They are pretty cheap too at around $75 USD or less depending where you look. So the 4300 series for ATI is the lowest of theirs I`d recommend. I can`t speak for Nvidia as I`ve never used them.
damn! you're fast here! 3 minutes two replies :O ty likke :) thorn i never used ati before -.- are you happy with them? my last grafic card was a 8500gt 512ddr3,but insufficient see you all soon in twin peaks :)
I'm using a GTS 250 with 1 GB DDR3. I can run on "high" graphics settings with no difficulties on a dual core 2.6 GHz pentium with 4gb of RAM. Hope this data is useful to you!
With vu10 i had major problems with a Nvidia card. Not sure if it was due to EU though in the end the company i bought my computer from replaced the graphics card with an ATI as the NVIDIA one i had is no longer in production. My new ATi card has been working fine. I'm not sure which card is the best for EU so i'll subscribe. I'd be very interested to know which is the best one
First we have to know what type of motherboard you have. You said you had an 8500gt before, which is an pci-express 16x card, so this means you can get cards from a lot of price ranges. I don't know what your budget is, so I can't say any specific models. At the moment the best price-quality wise brand is ATI. Next thing to look for is the memory(VRAM), which is quite important for EU, because of the engine. I would say at least a 512MB card, but if your budget allows it a 1GB card. There are some sorts of VRAM available, ranging from GDDR1 to GDDR5. Entropia would need at least GDDR3 or 4 for speed. Another important point for some people is the noise it produces. The cheaper cards can be cooled passively, so they make no noise. But the more powerful cards use a fan which can make some noise, especially when playing EU. If you can provide me with your motherboard type and budget, I can recommend you a specific card.
Running just fine on high with a Nvidia 9800 GT - should be quite cheap to buy now as Nividia has moved on etc.
thank you all for your help At the momment i cannot provide you my motherbord brand and type, becouse its on my parents home. But it uses pci-express 16x my cpu is pentium 4 3.2 (i know that's not enought, but it stay's for the last upgrade) my ram memmory is 4 gb ddr2 633 my buget is near 95 usd
So, the best I have found now in a Portuguese shop is this one here: Chiptec.net - Loja Informtica This offers GDDR5 memory at a low price, however it's only 512MB. The core and memory clocks seem ok for that price. It also has DirectX 10.1, which is the standard for new games. The price is 72.5 euros which is a bit above your budget. But in that price range there aren't much GDDR5 cards. Another plus is the cooling system from arctic cooling, which should keep the temperature relatively low at all times.
wow, tyvm for the search! is gddr5 really essential? or should i go for one with 1gb ddr? the screen is this one: "The Benq FP731 is a 17-inch TFT monitor with a maximum resolution of 1,280 x 1,024 pixels. It doesn't need a separate AC adapter; just plug the mains cable provided in at the back. It can be used with almost any video card with an ordinary analogue interface and a refresh rate of up to 76Hz - in practice most modern PCs. Pixel pitch is 0.264mm and the contrast ratio is 450:1. All of which adds up to a really good viewing experience, justifying the "great picture quality" claim."
Every generation of DDR has double the speed of the earlier one. This means it's 4 times as fast as the other cards from that price range. I don't know which effect the 512MB will have on your system, but I think the size is enough. Can anyone confirm this?
ty all for help i've decided to go for this one, more than enought for very high settings, and enought for future games, and i can connect it to my lcd full hd :) :.: Mbit :.:
