OK so I've done the Brown, Red and Yellow 250-kill Papoo missions, and have found I have a bit of an interval in my combat training as even the lowliest of the Grey Papoos nearly kill me unless I happen to get a lucky shot. I could continue to hunt Yellows (hardest of the previous three) but after close to a thousand Papoos counting Browns sweated and slaughtered, I'm...tired of Papoos. So, when I was gathering TPs early on, I would occasionally meet and get trampled by Boars, but ran into one the other day and it seemed huntable. But where are good boar hunting grounds? Entrepedia lists: Village Boars http://www.entropedia.info/Info.aspx?chart=Mob&name=Village_Boar ranging from 10-40 hps, which might be fun but less challenging, but I might still stalk them for interest, Wild Boars http://www.entropedia.info/Info.aspx?chart=Mob&name=Wild_Boar listed at 50-500 hps and the only one with a spot on a map as far from me as possible, surely they aren't only on that spot? Mountain Boars http://www.entropedia.info/Info.aspx?chart=Mob&name=Mountain_Boar whose table says the lowest have 300 hps, aaand something called a Sacred Boar with 20,000 hps which...no. http://www.entropedia.info/Info.aspx?chart=Mob&name=Sacred_Boar So maybe in relation to the map of NI TPs, http://www.entropiatouragency.com/nextisland.jpg can people give me some direction as to good places to find me some non-monkeys? I know when I was hunting TPs, the further away I got from the Crystal settlement area, the more boars stomping me, and the islands in the river west of Crystal had a lot of very angry boars. But at the time I did not note which kind (though there is a revive spot and a shack with 2 repair guys on one of those infested islands.)(only place so far I'd seen a building without a full range of robot services.) So yeah, if anyone can give me some hunting guidance...
cool, I'll have to check that out. I also went ahead and filled in empty armor slots with the TT armor, even though compared to Pixie they don't offer all that much protection...but some is more than none. I had Pixie harness, arms and shoes up to now. Friend gave me some sort of ogre or grendel or something shoes (I forget and I'm at work) and I've filled in face/gloves/shin/thigh with the TT armor. I look like a random combat extra from Mortal Combat. Also apparently there is a helmet slot and no TT helmet. (unless items on the auction called helmet are face slot items.) Grr to my employer blocking virtually all that is fun and good in life. Glad the blocking software hasn't noticed this forum, grr that I can't access Entropedia. I'd love to be looking up what drops the other Pixie pieces, if they even do on NI.
Boars, there where shit loads on the east shores the one time I was on NI. In and around the land areas over there, since I can't access the NI maps from other places in the universe I have to guess. From looking at the maps on entropedia I'd say around Kyanite and south of it.
Thanks, I'll have to head out that way. I went east then southeast to get the TP down by the pvp ruins, but didn't head north up the coast from that little roundabout intersection. I did the first Next Island Race and then my (aging, ailing XP) computer up and died, and after waiting for it to show up at a revive totem to no avail, I am now getting to know a new (better faster w7) pc, and hope to get back out there hunting again.
