Taken from the Next Island Dev Blog I took the liberty of Bolding the part I found most interesting. So, can we find these already on the Island, or is it as the original post was titled 'Under development'? If so, how can we get them? Hunting, mining, crafting, walking? I have to admit I love the idea so far, but I do have my doubts about introducing more resources when we already have a ton of crystals and animal parts in storage. Are there any plans for those?
They will be found, like papplon and so forth, as you're walking around tropical Next Island, starting on November 29th. Then you can refine them into Elysian Tech Chips. Elysian Tech Chips, in varying quantities, will be used in blueprints for Elysian tools (in progress) and Elysian weapons (in planning). My goal with these was to create a system for new players to engage the crafting profession and the economy. I've noticed that many starting players search for fruit, etc., and it's a mechanic I find more rewarding and interesting than sweating (the other option for new players at present). It takes advantage of the gorgeous environment we have here, and ties well with the Elysian backstory. I hope you enjoy this!
Yes, that sounds good to me. Nice to know PP's are not stuck with the standard stone/fruit/dung collectables. It's also good to know you have plans for their use too, though as Manny said the BP's that use them need to come quickly. I'm assuming that 'in progress' means the tool BP's are still at the testing stage, and won't be coming with next week's update.
As an fruit gatherer in the past this sounds great. I may hang up my mining gear and start walking again.
awesome cool neato XD just make sure a bp to use up the stacks come quickly or the stacks in storage will build up huge and value will be smacked down
eeeeewwwwww, no crystals or animal parts please, or if so, use a very common thing like papoo eyes, or boar hooves.... no need for any more expensive hard to get animal parts for lvl 0 bp's... Danburite was a bad choice, and the repercussions have shown that....
I was suggesting something common. I don't care so much, if it's a crystal or an eyeball. just something to give some use to these things.
I have been walking since the update, more than usual because of the competition. I have found stones, fruit and dung as usual, but I have yet to find any broken Elysian tech. Has anyone else found any? and Meg, are you sure it went in with the update?

We were talking about the broken Elysian tech and if MA did release it yet when he looked on the ground and there it was!! :) It pissed me off..I wanted to be the first to find one!!!! At least I got: 2011-12-14 20:39:56 [Local] [] Kent OZtwo Mathewson is the first colonist to reach tier 1 for Trojan Breastplate (M)! A record has been added to the Hall of Fame.
I've been walking around quite a bit over this last week and have found a plethora of fruit, stones and dung. But, still not a single broken elysian technology find. I'm wondering if the same sort of issue (but not the exact same issue as some has been found) is effecting the broken tech as the praetonium. Aw well, we will all just have to rely off our pappo supplier. :D
Praetonium hasn't been found, the ones available in auction are from DiNapoli's mission. Till the patch tomorrow at least :D
Broken Elysian Tech has been found, it went into the November update successfully. It's being found, refined and sold on AH in live right now. But you can use Sebastian for a sure thing!
Yes I did recognize that it can be found. Just from my personal finds, I've not seen it. I'm feeling a little misunderstood, so I just want to apologize for sharing a very weak comparison. If it sounded like any sort of jab at any aspect of the progress has been happening to Next Island, please don't take it that way. I really like the direction that I'm seeing things go and am happy to be back on the planet to support and enjoy the developments as they come. Seriously, hearts to you Meg for all your and the rest of the team's hard work. Would it have been more apt to compare my personal attempts to find broken tech with trying to craft the initial time travel crystal blueprint? My reasoning for this is that both are/were possible to have successes with, just kinda hard to accomplish(again, for me in this case). Again, this is just a connection that spurt forth from my brain. Not reflecting reality as it may be, just my perception of.
Is there any news on what happened to the Trojan Breastplate? And more, has anyone tiered it yet and if so, hit tier 2 yet?
