Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is bigger than Avatar

    Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 managed to generate 1 billion USD in revenue within 16 days after it was released, making it one day faster to accomplish this than James Cameron's blockbuster movie Avatar.

    This might serve as a reminder to skeptics that indeed, gaming no longer is a niche market for nerds only, but indeed is big business. Bigger, perhaps, than the movie market.
