Added a column to the CLD wiki showing the Calypso Total Gross Revenue per week. ;) Also the calculation of ROI has now it's very own formula instead of deriving ROI from the already rounded PED/Deed value. Which makes it a tiny little bit more precise.
huh? How? The markup is always the same unless someone re-sells surely? Do you mean (for example) by looking at things like this: i.e. by saying something like "if 12.7 pec have been sold and each share has an actual value of x, this equates to ythousand deeds sold". Is it something like that? eg if a deed is actually valued (for example) at 1/1000 of a pec then [(12.7 * 1000) / 60000)] * 100 = ~21% sold... or simpler (12.7/60) * 100% = ~21% Not sure if those numbers are right or not but, if so, kinda scary to think they already brought in ~1.3 million dollars. Christmas bonus' all round me thinks ,-) Wistrel PS What is the "Calypso Total" column about on the wiki page? (cool page btw) Is it some sorta estimate of the revenue generated by Calypso that week?
Well, yes, some sorta estimate which should be quite precise actually. It's automatically calculated using a formula designed according to the info we have. We know the revenue of 1 deed, we know there are 60,000 deeds, and we know that 60,000 deeds get 25% of Calypso's total. So it's actually quite easy to approximately calculate Calypso's total.
I know its been talked about before (I did read it somewhere) so forgive my bad memory but why is it 25% again and not 50%?
btw, its off topic hence another thread but in case anyones interested: http://www.entropiaplanets.com/forums/threads/deeds-hows-this-for-a-daft-idea.6766/ Sorta a vague (cause I lack numbers currently) thought experiment on the idea of investing "free" money in entropia land deeds for a year and then selling up and withdrawing and what sort of actual (after all "hidden" charges paid) return this would give and how that might compare to other investments such as shares etc. Wistrel
Few cosmetic changes to the CLD page and the form to add/edit revenues. The table showing revenues has an edit pencil now. Clicking it takes you to the edit mode for the according entry. Let's see what the first 2012 payout will bring us.
hmm so still not sure these things are worth it ....if the revenue varies the same way throughout the year i'd say you'll need somewhere around 5 and something years to recoup...can you be sure the game will exist that long? 1 year, 2 years yes, i just don't have confidence in them unless they make a more definitive move (has making themselves a bank project been permanently sidelined?)
Yeah, well I wasted the revenue on a mining run right away :-) But that amount was that nice because of Mayhem I guess and we will not see that high amount for some time now. I think a full year ROI will be more like 10 to 15% than MA estimated ROI of 27-30%
Well that's a bit low. I'd say approx 20-25% at bare minimum. And it's sort of what we saw in the first place. I know most us "optimistics" were thinking ~6 ped. But we all saw the 5 ped being the normal amount. And so far that's the amount we've been getting, put aside the couple hiccups. Do you think the 10 PED was a real reflection of the spending on EU that week or did they mess up the previous week and just combined it all in one week? If so then it basically follows the same pattern of approx 5-6 ped in the last 2 weeks.
When the ROI of 27-30% was mentioned by MA they referred to the "last 6 month" not the last year. Exacly witch 6 month never was told (not what i have seen anyway). The fact it was the last 6 month and not the last 12 month mentioned, should be hint that the last year wasn't 27-30% but lower. And for the record, I have bought a few of the deeds Never mind this......ehum...it was whole wrong :)
