Well, if nothing out of the ordinary happens it's probably not worth mentioning, and when something happens it doesn't matter whether it's good or bad. The slow decrease of CLD revenues is a long term development and when it was at an All Time Low I thought it is worth mentioning and asking people for their opinion. Fact is MA said "the potential return of investment (ROI) is expected to be between 27% and 30% per year". It probably safe to say the 'normalized ROI in 2011 was 26+%, in 2012 the ROI was ~24.5%, and in 2013 the ROI is ~22.5% so far. If you don't consider the original price of 1000PED/deed but rather the market value of a deed it looks like this: 26+% in 2011 ~21% in 2012 ~16.4% in 2013 so far
19.337% today. So doesn't look like the Skill Up Weekends had any impact. Let's see what the next content release does.
Can we blame other planets for the drop off? ie dilution of the community? I also suspect some of the changes to the loot system to make the game more newbie friendly and less about the big payouts will have an initial bad effect but a stronger one over time? Who knows.
nah, can't blame other planets... but it probably plays some of a role as new 'events' happen in other planets like the upcoming apocalypse on RT. The other planets are just 'marketing'. They can't help it that the rest of the world ignores EU and the only 'target market' of that advertising is really the few thousand folks in the existing playerbase.
So the last payout was more or less 18% which means another All Time Low. One can only hope that other planets are to blame for this and it's not indicating that the all planets total is slowly decreasing. You can clearly see the increase during Mayhem style events and the drops after the events but even more of these events can't be the solution...
the only thing that is going to solve it is more depositing players on Calypso---> MA/FPC doing so decent marketing for Calypso.
Yeh it is fairly obvious that MA/Calypso have realised that regular events brings in the mullah. Its good for deed holders for sure ;) Still, what we lack in the higher interest rate we make up in increase in trading value. As long as that value stays that is.
Well Mr McC said something like this. Will someone else buy it to protect their investment. Ultimately there is no point though, then they will just have to sell it later. Unless they do a backhand deal which doesn't involve auction
If they are not around for the end of the auction a high bid has a fair chance of staving off the competition in their absence
It arrived: ~27.59% Highest in 2013 and also the 4th highest "regular" value, after MM peak in Dec 2012 (27.86%) and MM peaks in Dec 2011 (27.76% and 28.3%). Really crazy what the vanishingly low prospect of prizes can do.
Could it be that the late arrival means this week includes an extra day that could explain the peak? Would be interesting to see next week's results before jumping to conclusions.
