Challenge for PP's: Create this mob and see what happens

Discussion in 'General Entropia Universe Discussion' started by BlackHawk, Sep 17, 2011.

  1. I was thinking about this for a while now. I see all developers insist on graphics and things that look cool. For this reason, I would like to propose you 2 scenarios, by making 2 mobs.

    1. Create a box. Make it black or just a random color. Make it the size of a big avatar. Have it hover above ground.
Have the box deal about 100-120 damage.
Make the box have 1800 HP and regen.
Add in loot table: ESI, ESCP, light metal plating, a blp gun with 60-65 dps when amped, a laser gun similar, all armor limited parts from an armor that protects like rutuba.

See what happens after you have the box in game for 1 month.

    2. Create the best graphic you can think of.

Make the mob have 1800 HP and regen.
Make the mob hit for 100-120 damage.
Add in loot table: ESI and whatever MA wants to add extra.

See what happens in 1 month.

    Compare results.

    Interesting idea :D

I would bet that loot and/or mob behaviour indeed does have a bigger influence on how well a MOB will be hunted, rather than how a MOB looks.

I believe the gambling aspect will attract more people than how a mob is designed ...

Nothing to predict there both mobs will be hunted to extinction. The box will be extinct first though :)

    Really interesting.

    Just let me add:
    • 1.1. Create a version of 1. with 180000 health, dealing 1-2 damage, add no loot at all but make it sweatable.

I think we all can somehow predict the outcome of such an experiment. But then you can see this challenge as the first step only. What if all mobs are boxes? What if there are no mobs at all but just a hunting terminal in which you choose your equipment and click a button? Don't we have that already and it's called crafting.

Finally the ultimate question is how far can you reduce it.

    Like that?

Would that attract more participants or less?

Calin Due for an Ultra-Uber Loot.

Any mob with good tt, good markup, useful, interesting loot will do better than any other mob.

This is not true. As proven by peoples behaviour on existing mobs. A big mob which may have crap loot but capable of 50k+ uber will do better than a small mob which is easy to kill but with good loot.

  12. You are missing the point. I never said that that should be a permanent mob. I said it should be a test for a limited period of time. I do think is nice to have good graphics in game.

However, such a test would actually let us know if people would actually go for mobs based on how they look and how they move, or based on how they deal with the economy.

I suspect it will be because how they integrate with the economy, but I accept the fact that I may be wrong, so that is why a test would help to make things clear. Have 2 mobs with same stats and only change in look and loot table.

Many people claim that they play for fun. If it would be true, the mob with better design would be more successful. That info can be used to improve the game considering that fact. It can be that both mobs are just as popular. That would be a great info also. And then again, it may be that people go for economy integration. And if that is true, the design could and should improve that aspect more and more.

I am not saying that I know what the result would be. I am saying that I would love to know.
