I ran into neomaven today and suggested an idea to help for the lagginess of Champion's League. He said that someone had suggested this already, but I didn't see it in any thread yet.

I had a lot of trouble yesterday trying to switch to a different dome due to the massive amount of people in my
dome and lack of mobs. I tried to use the "t" button to get out of the dome, since I knew that dying or teleporting
with the teleporter would ultimately take 5 mins to do. "t" finally worked like 5 mins after it showed that it was done counting down, but alas, I was then stuck in the control room with a teleporter that ONLY offered dome 1 (the dome
that I was already hunting in prior to pushing t). So, I was stuck in dome 1 for the remainder of the contest.
The time lost dropped me from 5th to 14th place, which was of course no surprise to me. I knew the risk already
from pushing t, but I thought that at least eventually I would be able to make it up in a different dome.
That's not anything to do with my suggestion, other than an illustration of the numorous problems in CL
due to the major number of participants.

I've noted that some people suggested lowering the number of tickets for the event, but I really don't think
this is a fair solution. That's not a solution that will let the whole community participate, and the intention
of CL is to keep all interested in EU. New players and old players should both have a chance in CL
regardless of skill level. So, my suggestion for CL takes this into account:

Create a light weight 88-150 hp, middle weight 150-250 hp, and heavy weight division for CL.
This way you could sell tickets for 3 different time slots for the event and still give all a chance to
participate without nearly as much lag. I realize that this would cause some problems for the point
system that is currently in place but with some minor adjustments this could be fixed. Perhaps 2
tickets to Quarterfinals for 1st in the heavy weight, 1 for winner of middle/light weight divisions could
be awarded. Maybe even top 3 for heavy, top 2 for middle, and top 1 for light. Something of this nature
- I haven't totally thought it out.

If something isn't going to be done by MA (which we can't be sure of even though
I know they are trying their best), then some people won't participate in these events.
When speaking with neo, he sounded like he was pretty sick of it already.
I would have to agree that it is very bad - if someone like neo that has a chance to
win the whole damn thing would stop participating, then you KNOW something is wrong.

I will continue to participate either way, but I figured I'd just throw this out there and see what Klod,
Neverdie, and the community think about it.

Thank for your post Star and I can say I have spent a few hours thinking about how to continue as
the situation looks now.

Still its something positive creating this situation. Champions League have grown so much it attract a
lot of ppl. Perhaps it is time to start another division.

A event that have to many ppl playing, it has to be a good thing right :)

I will also share how my thought goes. limit the numbers to 45 or change CL in to something as u see
below fast. If cahnged I will postpone the league one week in order to get everything right so none
or at least few walk away dissapointed. its really annoying when same thoughts just go round and round :D

here is one way it could be done in as it looks now, perhaps with a one time option to transfer ur points
from major league to minor league. Wouldnt be three different leagues but two ;). Would also eliminate
the buying points situation we have atm. Note this is nothing final just a suggestion

Ohh and sry about the names for the leagues, lol just soemthign in lack of better names atm

Next Season
Here is the plan for how next season basic could look and also the introduction of minor Champions League and Major Champions League.

Main thing with this league version is that there will be no more buy points, u already payed for that when u join. If u then get max points or not depends on how well u do in the events.

2 different but very similar leagues
First one
* tickets for the event cost 50 ped, health above 150 is recommended is recommended if u aim is to win

* All expenses will be payed at one occation and thats when u buy the ticket. No additional costs or points you can buy.

U may only get points in one of the leagues, if u choose to enter another one u need to contact me and wipe ur score in the other league.

*Major league will cost 50-60 ped to enter each event (pls dont go crazy about this) Remeber each event will cost about 1k to setup with prizes etc. So that cost will be coverd by 20 regged players. Other peds helps to cover the final prize and hopefully a few to me as well ? lol Number of participants will be restricted to 40 as it looks atm.
* U will also be able to get up to 4 bonus points in each event through pk and globals.

*Domes this league will use is dome 6-20

Second one
one cost 25 to entry

* All expenses will be payed at one occation and thats when u buy the ticket. No additional costs from points you buy

*U may only get points in one of the leagues, if u choose to enter another one u need to contact me and wipe ur score in the other league.

*Minor league will cost 25-35 ped to enter each event, Cost to create each event will be around 500 ped and the total league prizes will be half the amount of the major league ones. Number of participants will be restricted to 40 as it looks atm.
* U will also be able to get up to 4 bonus points in each event through pk and globals.

*Domes this league will use is dome 1-15
