Hi, Earlier was introduced Plillars of Eternity here on EP, an upcoming classic RPG from the team at Obsidian. In this thread I will discuss ArcheAge, an upcoming Sandbox MMO from Trion Worlds. What is ArcheAge in terms of being a Fantasy Sandbox MMO: Adventure in an open-ended MMORPG freed from predefined paths and progression. Build massive castles and lay claim to lands whose riches fuel a deep, player-driven economy. Band together to protect your fortune in epic siege battles and naval combat – or live the life of an outlaw, prying glory and coin from foes left in your wake. ArcheAge Official Page > http://www.archeagegame.com/en/ Introduction to the "Fantasy" concept behind ArcheAge: (A must watch to understand) >
Some info about the game (in short) Class system, mix to create your own to play it your way: ArcheAge features over 100 Classes built from 10 Skillsets favored by the gods and heroes of the Great Expedition. Skillsets host a range of abilities, from Sorcery’s devastating spells to Songcraft’s soothing ballads. Each one levels up independently (as you gain experience with a Skillset, you will unlock its array of powers) and over time you can master them all. After reaching level 10, you can combine any three Skillsets to make a unique Class. You can swap Skillsets in and out to change Classes as often as you like, with no predefined path to follow. Experiment and discover Classes to fit any situation, and all with the same character! Player Diven Economy: (Video later on this) Gatherers, crafters, and traders: You are the engine that drives ArcheAge, and its economy is yours to control. Master diverse skills to craft goods and homes, galleons and castles. Transport and trade materials across the realm, braving danger and piracy to support your allies in wars that will change the fate of the world. World Changing PvP: The Land of Origin offers immense wealth to those with the will to claim it. Assemble allies and build an empire to span continents. Sabotage your enemies’ trade and lay waste to their armies in the field. Rally your forces and craft massive siege engines that will carry you into the heart of rivals’ power – and help you rip it away. Naval Combat on the High Seas: (See video below) A vast, uncharted ocean separates the old continents, its churning waters ruled by chaos and gold. Amass fame and fortune by securing trade routes and controlling their flow of resources. Riches await whether you lead fleets against enemy armadas or ply the waters as a pirate for hire – just beware what lies beneath!
Videos: A little overview, too much to show in terms of being a Sandbox MMO. (Naval Battles shown) > A small gameplay overview also showing the economy of what is involved: (A must see to understand) > Specific to economy: >

Hmm looks interesting for sure and might appeal to my sense of exploration. Another CE mmo could work for me. My only history of K MMO's is Rappellz which I tried with a friend who said it was no where near as good as FFF (Fly for fun). We didn't go too far with it. A big off put for me is often that the K MMO's have very limited Character creation so no one looks bad... Meh. I did try an K MMO inline skating one once though. That was a bit of fun. Me and my friend snuck into a french beta test ;) Wonder what happened to that one... Annoyingly though this game hasn't launched yet and I don't fancy £35 for something I have high suspicions I ultimately won't get into. I didn't get into TSW yet but to be fair I didn't really try yet either... keep falling back on good old Entropia where I know what is what and where is where. Maybe I am just getting old haha ;) Still Archage looks like something I will enjoy reading about and watching videos and maybe when it launches just walking around in. Off to watch some vids about the court trials now! Cool idea Wistrel
Glad you saw this thread, I just posted an example in another thread from here for you. Sorry for the long reply *grins* >
