Extracted these from the video recently uploaded by Tum (Lead concept artist for Cyrene). I think you'll agree some really interesting info in them if you look carefully. Edit: Ed posted this in a post below (this one really is an exclusive). Thanks Ed:
Some questions and observations that came to my mind when looking at the pics: 1) Did the red spider make it into game :P 2) Mystical castle, wonder if thats part of a town 3) So we know Tum likes the book "Conan" wonder if the other book is "The art of Cyrene". No idea what the third book could be playboy maybe :) 4) Tum prefers to use double monitor. The pic on second monitor appear to be for textures but the bigger one looks like an aircraft... 5) The textures that appear to be mounted on wall is in fact the back cover of a book... 6) Behind the monitor pics look very interesting. Maybe of a mounted turret? 7) The trooper looks awesome. It's on wall as well as a cutout so must definately be in game. 8) Concept art of "Smugglers" on wall is that a planet cyrene era? or a different game? 9) The Tro-x maybe is a fighter plane for killing trox :P
For George and his great eye for detail. Yes, in the Northern continent under a frozen lake = ) Thats all I can say about that. That is concept art by a world class renderer here at Creative Kingdom. It is actually very old now and has changed since it was created. It will be shown in detail in the Art of Cyrene book. The Conan book is mine actually and it is a game guide for the MMO which I was playing a while ago. I believe I used it for some reference art regarding vegetation (they did an awesome job in that game at this). The Other book is indeed one of the mock ups for the Art of Cyrene book. And no that last one is not a playboy but I am unsure what it is since we moved offices and it is no longer on Tum's desk. The Trooper is indeed a part of the game, but the armor is now considered old Imperium Standard issue armor similar to what Jonah Armstrong and his men wore on Staverron. Same game current era. Smuggler city was the code name for what will now be known as "The Turrelion Outpost". [/QUOTE] That was just Tum coming up with a name. The idea behind the video was just him free flow working for 3 hours. He was given no direction or reference. To be honest I have yet to approve this craft and it will probably go through some changes before it makes it. Hope this clears some stuff up and great detective work George. I take it you are a fellow Batman fan?
Tass, that one is the old version of what we now call a "LANCE". It is a rapid assault vehicle with light armor. Perfect for quick hit and run skirmishes.
:D That for sure is gonna be one difficult mob to kill. Beware peeps of frozen lakes ! Wow so the book project is taking shape. I'm still keeping an eye out for that book on Amazon. I reckon that should be out sometime after game is first released. Aha .... Awesome. So they are gonna be on our side Turrellion outpost goes off to google that found EP wiki, "Ther Turrelions were the oldest of the human's/the Imperium's allies. Then they ran over to The Coallition. It's not clear whether the Turrelions will make their appearance on Cyrene." updated that :) No worries. It was for sure a great speed painting... :D the modern batman film remakes are my fav. Kay, that Pic is not official but I can see about getting you that HD one. Also we though about putting out the Videos in HD and that might help as well.
