Did anyone else notice that the countdown reset last night? (or paused?) It was on 20 hours left - currently it says 16 hours left.... I wonder how many hours will be left tomorrow...?
How do they actually destroy the unsold several hundred thousand of Deep Tokens? Is it just a matter of hitting a delete key? Are hammers involved? Buried on a dump site?
Here is the player register thread once MA noticed it was showing us the truth about the real number of accounts : http://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/forums/showthread.php?219756-Player-Register-Disabled And from this thread : http://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/f...ma-say-they-had-over-a-million-accounts-or-so Mr Nighthawk who at that time was not an official mindark even MANY MANY times i was saying on PCF it was CLEAR for me he was in touch with them, who is stating that inactive accounts over 3 years are deleted, which would explain why 700 000 accounts do not appear in the 263k accounts of the Player Register, so explaining how mindark claims to have 1 million... So I PROVE that all this is a lie : (sorry wrong manipulation, see the pics on next post)
I did this screenshot today, 2018-04-25, this player who was my friend in the game and in my society, left the game in 2005/6, notice the entropia tracker is starting to gather info since 2008 = you will not find him. So 13 years later, his avatar name is still existing in the player register database, and is ABSOLUTELY NOT removed/deleted. Which is simply showing that the statement above, is a lie... The number of accounts showed when the player register feature was released, was the REAL number of accounts. No need to wonder why mindark rushed to shut down the game and "improved" the player register so we can't SEE anymore the numbers... Dont get me wrong, but the truth is the truth... "the swedish tradition of excellence" and "a very high bar for quality"
"Registered accounts" - the term already suggest that these are not necessarily players. A registered account can be an account created on the web, the owner of the account might have never made it into the game due to whatever reasons. Registering an account doesn't require you to play, or install the game, not even download it. The player register probably tracks something else, maybe people who at least managed to log in, or who finished avatar creation. Nevertheless the numbers are dubious of course. Iirc MA never officially announced reaching 1M accounts, or did they? You surely can remember the years when the official website displayed registered accounts with at least daily updates. Just have a look at this: On 31 of Dec 2004 the counter on the website said: 197636 - > https://web.archive.org/web/20041231041945/http://www.project-entropia.com/Index.ajp MindArk's Annual Report 2008 had numbers for "Newly registered customer accounts" per year, for 2005 it said: 133 265 -> http://cdn.entropiaplanets.com/w/images/5/54/Annual_report_2008.pdf page 16. Now we probably all agree that 197636 + 133 265 = 330901 However, on 31 Dec 2005 the counter on the website didn't say ~331000, it said: 352850 -> https://web.archive.org/web/20051231025806/http://www.project-entropia.com/Index.ajp Iirc in 2006 the difference was about 60000 accounts. And all of that not considering terminated accounts. I've discovered this long ago when I actually wanted to create a chart showing account growth, with exact numbers from financials reports, numbers from press releases and from the website counter. I gave up soon because it did look very strange very early, but for a rough first impression: http://www.entropiaplanets.com/wiki/Entropia_Universe_Registered_Accounts Oh, and btw, my number taken from the player register back then was ~300k accounts.
Well, I dont know why i kept this 263k in my memory, and you might be right for the number... Pretty weird for me who did millions of screenshots, yes millions... I did not have the reflex to screen this immediately. It certainly did not come to my mind(ark) that they would shut down the game once they realise they released a feature without proper testing and programming like all of us know it is their sooooooooo classic habit. Anyway, 299k accounts from 2003 to 2011, I hardly see how it could suddenly become 3 millions in 2018... It is good to understand that "account" doesnt mean "players" : In the old times, I met someone who was explaining to me his avatar name beeing the 45th avatar he had created. Find this screenshot in my archives will be fastidious, but i got it somehere... "the swedish tradition of excellence" and "a very high bar for quality"
That's usually achieved by sending tokens to 0x0000000000000000000000000000000000000000 or a known abandoned address. So yes, dump site.
Hmmm, nice comparsion to my "old" data. And yes, the 3 million registered accounts are a blatant lie, if you arent blind.
So they’ve now extended the DT sale by a couple of days??!!! I can’t stand it any more!!!!!!!?! Going to go to Live Chat and insult someone.
OK spoke with Loki and....wait for it....... “ Loki Hi welcome. The sale is extended by request as we have some technical issues because of the volume of new accounts. ‘ <lols>
I said to Loki ‘but you’ve hardly sold any DT how could it be delayed because of some last minute rush for new accounts’. Also said that ‘it didn’t look very professional’ he replied ‘you’re welcome to your opinion’ <blah blah> It’s the same old same old Swedish Tradition of Excellence but forever tarnished by the shameful incompetence of a certain gaming company with a real cash economy and cardboard cutouts for management.
Lots of people only keep their account active and just log in through the website. No reason not too really. I hang out in Entropia a fair bit but I doubt I'm in the tracker much. But I take your point that it is all highly suspect and likely inaccurate
Its because of companies like MindArk, screwing around in the crypto market, we need officials to step in...gratz MA.
