  1. RAZER

RAZER Custom title ... uh ...

Yes indeed, I have screened through the EF forum rules and didnt find anything else about linking to websites, so my guess is there is no problem with us linking to EP or ER or any other site relating to EU.

And I don't see who 711 wants to change the rules so we cant link to EP without naming the website by name. Only thing he can do is to forbid us to link to other gaming sites, which would make linking to your soc forum or entropedia illegal to.

So I think he can't do anything about it.

oh, and I don't have anything against 711, I'm just very interested in these kinda things about rules and how to bend them in your favor and what people will do in order to stop you doing that :)

    Ouch competitive friction,

I could see this coming at some point.

EF is a part of his core business IRL which he earns his income from.
So he is protecting his business interests in that respect.

I do not entirely agree with not providing a external Entropia Universe news sub-forum avenue to reference such interviews in.

    Such as here > http://www.entropiaforum.com/forums/entropia-universe-press/

Interviewers no matter where they come from, including EP are mass-media/press agents once their work (interview in this case) is on display anywhere in the public domain. A fact that can not be argued. ;)

Have you negotiated with 711 to see if gamersHQ is an acceptable site to promote Entropia related interviews at, being not part of the core Entropia Universe viewing portal where any and all games and reference material relating to them can be mentioned ?

Maybe if you took it away from the directly competing forum site audience (EF) now that memberships are up and running on EP he will be more tolerant in not derailing and devaluing your efforts to promote great interview material to the broader Entropia Universe community.

  3. There is a issue with linking to EntropiaReality, its a banned word for instance. Just like <Removed> is a banned word

A ER link on EF would be like !!!!!!!!!!!! instead of the actual url

  4. O! <Removed>. He cant do a thing about it at all, especially a worldwide public network.

Regretfully he seems to dig his heels in as if to do battle. This was Not Lykke and Peters vision tho. I think they wouldve apreciated 711 s aproval of this new forum. Just that the EU community have more choices now. Way to go guys! You caused blind pannic in a neurotic control freak. LOL

And I actually agree with the banning of ER on EF.

ER is not an EU forum. It is a hate filled place for 10 people to swear one other. Not about the gameplay etc of EU. It exists for a few people to have a go at each other.

It certainly has its place, but it is not really about the EU.

    Agreed,

I sift through ER periodically. It amazes me the site actually exists in its pretence to serve Entropia Universe in any real way.

It does nothing to aid the progression of Entropia Universe as a service in the market,
Just destroy its appeal & potential imho.

I guess some need that form of outlet (or some form of yobo communication) to give their lives both IRL & virtual some form of importance and/or significance.

  7. Its a good place to hang out scammers from top tier socs without having 30 clueless people saying "nuh uh" and be like "-rep"

  8. Lavawalker

    Lavawalker RETIRED

Yes it does have that avenue, though it comes at great cost to profile of the site and its approval in being considered a fansite supporting a valued content scope to cover the broader aspects of Entropia Universe for the community.

btw I do not mean to offend anyone on a personal level, the above post is highly opinioned and a personal overall judgement upon ER as a forum in terms of providing the above.

Like safara pointed out and yourself just now, it has its place ;)

  9. Sorry, couldnt leave this uncommented:

    Neither does MA :bigsmile::bigsmile:

Nah, thats not what i wanted to say, actually my comment was planned to be more like this:

It is not the purpose of a forum to "aid the progression" of its game, is it?
Or do you see a forum as a meeting place for fanbois only?
But then again... you are right, ER is for sure not full of fanbois...

Most members of the community have dropped a couple of lines into this snakepit, and many of those who didn't were simply too afraid of the hostile ER environment or possible consequences from MA...
(but still read it frequently out of morbid curiousity... that sure sounds like hypocrisy to me)

sooo it is maybe not the most intelligent thing to run down ER, as almost everyone has/had a share in ER at a certain point.

    Agreed up to a point,

If you read the overall content presented on ER in the way that it is,
you can not do much more than feel sorry for the site, the owner of the site and the participating audience.

There is little in the way of constructive posts that are objective in discussing issues - well in discussing anything really.

It is more of an outlet than a forum worthy of getting involved with to properly discuss or debate topics, good or bad.

    Sure one can pick up points from those who do post on various subjects including what to look out for;

Though the lack of balance in the participating audience on ER pretty much devalues its worth unless your mindset is aligned with the participating audience on the subject.

Like minded attracts like minded is very much the case of ER,
Unfortunately that mindset is one that is slow to progress & evolve in general. (Close minded, incapacitated)

^^ Even though ER claims to be a free environment, those who participate are more-so slaves to the reverse of this concept, probably without even realising it.

A close mindset is one that takes time to de-evolve into and become stuck in, limited by ones own mental barriers built and shaped from the environment and comfort zone which they become accustomed to.

Free environments with lacking moderation (rules/guidelines) do not encourage those who participate to change their standard demeanor (usually breeding more of the same), allowing them to experience other ways of involving themselves in a discussion which is different to their normal approach which could potentially provide an opportunity to learn, evolve and progress.

It is much like living with a chip on your shoulder till the day you die which prevents you from changing your position on subjects of discussion through the lack of opportunity to pursue new lines of thinking, hence experiences to learn and grow from.

I put forward my concerns to Lykke & Peter.

Unless they are willing to be very attentive in hard-line moderating such topics here in a neutral manner that does not negatively impact their own involvement with Entropia Universe too much, it may drag the profile of EP to the similar present-day 'slum' levels of ER over time.

    http://www.entropiaplanets.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3249&postcount=30

I best refrain from posting about ER before a bounty is put on my head in PvP :kos:

PS. There is no need to run down the profile of a run down forum ;) <Personal judgement of ER present day>
The only way is up out of the slums once the owner/moderators can steer it onto a more fruitful path.

  11. Saf for the most part you are right. Thats ER. Altho I have seen how in-game Pedos getting their arse creamed by members there that even resulted in a RL-Prison sentence etc. Go figure . I think it was Felicity who got BS banned and convicted there.

I always described ER as the Virtual laundromat for players to wash their dirty clothes there. Viguritivelly speaking OFc.

  12. She probably did have a helping hand in the case yes since she reported him to icelandic social services for being a unfit parent.

They did find out he had been molesting his 4ish year old daughter since she was 2 years old.

This is why I think ER has a place, its not the most helpful forum but its very good for reporting and discussing scammers, lowlife and some good old mudslinging

I got a ban warning from Neo..not because I broke rules, he said my posts were too cynical and he was not happy with the neg rep I gave him on multiple occasions..I got the invite shortly after.

I would of thought he would be happy I spend most of my forum time here now..

But then again, he has no control here..does he.

Please don't sell the forum to Neo!!

  14. I still believe MindArk should open their own Official Forum to have a forum not biased towards any society or person.

Every other MMO has a official forum, I think it would look more professional also

  15. Dude! Lykke and Peter beat em to it. This forum is absolutelly unbiased. Their patience with you , me and HW is a definite clue. Another big clue is 711 expressing his concern and feeling threatened.

  16. Lykke TheNun

Lykke TheNun In Loot We Trust

I don't get this. You just got this now?

And no worries. We have no plans on selling this forum to anyone - heck we just started the party :shots:

Ya, I was a bit slow on this one! :alcohol:

  18. Yeah I have been treated fairly fair, a few infractions here n there but nothing major.

I want a official forum though, maybe something similar to SWG official forums. There you could reply to posts from employee's with "You Sir,is a total fucking idiot" when you didnt agree and all you got was a 500-10000minute ban from the forums but never any ingame punishment.

There was no need to hide under alt names to voice concerns of strong opinions without risking to lose everything

If it had been my game/forum, I'd have made the ban last until you'd mail in a handwritten note containing 1000 lines of "You sir ARE a total fucking idiot"

  20. Spelling errors aside, I hope you get my point that there should be a official forum with some rules but still soft enough to allow some slack.

MindArk is good at giving some slack about the "No harmful discussions about MindArk/EU is allowed" rule so far but who knows when its gonna be delivering the banhammer on it. Maybe no bans been given for that since they cant verify 100% that the username corresponds with same IP as a EU account and only way to do that is to get host/IP from forums which I personally think would be a breach of all forums privacy policy and a shitty way to act from a admin
