EntropiaPlanets Tracker: Additional searches available

We just finished adding some addtional searches for you. It is now possible to search data based by society (this depends on the avatars in question having set their societies in their user profiles, of course), WOF team names, or location where globals have been scored.

We also added OLA 15, Trilomite land. EntropiaPlanets tracker has been logging hunting globals on Treasure Island and Crystal Palace for some time now, based on the unique mobs available there. Seeing Bernz recently increased the maturiy on OLA 15, and OLA 15 being the only area where Trilomite Prowlers and Trilomite Stalkers roam, we were able to add another location based on this.

If you are a land owner and have a unique mob maturity, do let us know, and we will ensure your land area will get free advertising as well.

The list of locations is pretty empty for the time being, as there currently are only three areas being advertised through the globalchat messages sold by MindArk, and only the Land Areas mentioned above that have unique mobs (that we are aware of), but we'll soon add additional mechanisms for getting your very own Land Area advertised through our tracker. Stay tuned :tiphat:

p.s. we are aware that our merging algorythm is slightly flawed, and there are dupes and/or missing globals. This will hopefully be solved during the upcoming week.

Feel free to let us know of any other bugs you might encounter, though.

Thank you for adding OLA-15 in your system. I was not sure if I'm the only one with Trilomite Prowler/Stalker. I asked that to myself just yesterday.

You're most welcome. I do believe your LA has the only Trilo DNA, though. By the way, check your PM-box ;)

  4. Nice. Looking forward to seeing how you did that without pressing "p" - either through your client, or making the user press "p" manually... because thats just dangerous in regards to accurate data.

I assume you are making this so you can host events on all LandAreas, and in that case please consider the following:

I sign up for an "ambulimax event" through your site.
The event is located at Nea's LA..

Then, I give my login to the client, to a m8 of mine.. he then log's in as me, stands in Nea's while I hunt ambulimax somewhere on Eudoria... Whenever I global.. he press P (or the program will do so automatically)... Then.. voilla.. it will look as if I got the global on Nea's LA--- That is... If you use "p" to get the location of the global....

So, again.. I look forward to how you ensure the global actually happend on the LA. :)

Also, this is why Entropia Tracker dosent use the "P method" to figure out where a global occured. :).. We did make that once -

Starfinder, don't assume things. It'll make an ass out of you and me.

  6. Thats why I said "i look forward to seeing how you did it" :)

Btw.. like the WOF search.. ppl have been asking for that for quite some time.. :)

  7. Don't you have an own tracker to take care of, Starfinder?

From what i heard it's far from perfect... ;)

  8. As much as you want.. I dont want to start throwing mud arround... so.. Yes, i will get back to my tracker.. thanks for suggesting it.. :)

It seems to me that you guys should act more professional. This type of responses make me less interested in contributing anything however small.

I don't see any advantage to me running the client for either tracker, but I do anyways just to help out.

I have encouraged posting here to people in game to help get your new forum a boost.

I have tried to be as active as possible in the ANF program to help it get started.

I have also moved my project logging over here for what small interest it may bring, just because I would like to see the up-and-coming forum do well.

But bickering like this over nothing is really childish and makes me wonder why I try.

I in no way condone any finger pointing based on anything I've said, its just a post hoping some of you may reflect on yourselves.

  10. Narfi: I am sorry if you feel I have acted un-professional.

The thought behind my post were to, either applaude their way of getting the global location, or raise awareness that using "P" to get the location of the global is dangerous.

There are 3 possible answers to my post:

    1:
They are not using P and have figured out another way of doing it. In which case I will still say "wow".

    2:
They dident realize that a senario which I described could exist. In which case now they know, so they can "update their solution".

    3:
They dident care. In which case I think its - ehm - less than optimal.

So far Wizzszz has shown some pretty cool stuff for the client - or spoke about them - so im hoping for "solution 1", that they have figured out a new way of doing it. Im just sorry that any "be aware of this" posts regarding their tracker is immediatly taken as a full on assault on their tracker, when its not.

  11. Starfinder,

we welcome any input from people running EPTracker - you are not running our tracker, nor are you part of the tech crew, so i, for the life of me, cannot understand why you did more posts about EPTracker than the EP tech crew!?! Why you are so eager after discussing everything thats related to our tracker?

I did not point out the technical lack of perfection over nothing - running both trackers at the same time corrupts our datastream, sometimes beyond the point where it is still useful, so wouldn't it be better to concentrate you efforts on improving your own tracker instead of discussing future features of EPTracker?

I don't want to regret that i coded EPTracker as cooperative as possible, the next version cannot be installed at the same time with ESG, and i spending a lot of extra effort on ensuring that people will be able to use ET along with EPT - this might change tho.

I am saying this as nicely and with as little sarcasm as possible - but your "input" on internals you do not (and can not) understand couldn't be less helpful.... Tbh, i find it highly annoying to find yet another PM from you about things we already announced to be subject of future improvements.

As i see it, there are 3 options:

    1) Run our tracker and limit your feedback to things someone USING the tracker would give.

    2) Officially apply for a (unpaid) job within the EP tech crew and give your "tech" input in the appropriate (NON-public) sections of EP - (i wouldn't hold my breath tho if i were you)

    3) Mind your own business, ET should provide plenty of room for your ideas.
