    Hi everyone,

As you undoubtedly noticed, we had some downtime, for which I apologize. The reasoning behind this is that effective immediately, I have removed wizzszz from the EntropiaPlanets staff.

As a result of this, some of the functionality of the forum and website has been disabled. Concretely, this means the following systems will be unavailable for an unspecified amount of time:

    The EntropiaPlanets tracker
The Mission tracker and associated functionality
    The conquest system

I'm still in the middle of going over the contents of the site, which means that at any given point, (parts of) other systems might be switched off. I'll try and keep you updated on these matters.

Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this might cause you, and we will try and do our best to ensure things will be back up and running in one way or another.

wizzszz worked extremely hard to improve and enhance functionality on this site, and his input and opinions will be greatly missed. We would like to use this opportunity to thank wizzszz for his efforts, and wish him all the best in his future projects.

    Ho hum

The stuff going offline is a shame, but good luck getting things back up and running VF/Lykke.

  3. As sad as it sounds, most of the stuff will not be "back up" ever again - i think you will have to live w/o the neat extra features EP had to offer from now on.

Well, that then would be a truly sad thing

I'm currently working on getting the Conquest system back up and running, albeit without the code changes made by wizzszz.

I will also try and code a new version of the mission tracker as soon as possible.

The EntropiaPlanets global tracker is a different story altogether.

  6. Hope all goes well :) And dont dispare Im sure there are others out there that can help out

  7. There will be no mission tracker - we both know that you (or anyone else from EP staff) can't code it w/o heavily copying from my code - and i am currently not inclined to let you use anything of my work, especially not for free.

Maybe those that loved the (among staff members not totally undisputed) feature can donate to have it back up - i've given more than my fair share when it comes to "donating" already.

Thank you for your concerns. Please rest assured that I have no intention of ripping your work. I'm sure I'll somehow manage to get something whipped together.

  9. So uhm basicaly over night some drama happened and now we lost one of our biggest tech-guys?

    Truly, truly a shame.

Decisions like this are not exactly taken in the heat of a moment. This was not an easy decision to make, either.

I have, and still do consider wizzszz as a friend and a mentor, and am thankful for everything he taught me. I truly do wish him nothing but the very best.

  11. Umm, strange, because at my end it looked very different - and i kindly asked you several times not to misrepresent things:

Forgive me for "quoting out-of-context" and publishing things that were said in private - but, i think the members here have a right to know WHY the have to abandon all the cool little extra features.

EntropiaPlanets = admin = Peter - i am sure he can confirm that this text snippet is genuine.

    Nothing to add.

/Edit: I change the "not so nice f-word" to this over here: f**king
    The rest is unchanged.

As I stated before, this is not based on a single isolated incident. But seeing you decided to publisize that part of the conversation we had, if someone thinks they can blackmail me, they are very wrong.

Well, from that snippet of a conversation you have posted there Wizz, I would wholeheartedly not want you being any part of anything I was involved with.

I am pretty sure there much more to this, but from what you have shown, you have confirmed that Peter and Lykke have made a good decision for removing you from the staff.

There was no real disrespect shown in the Conquest thing, and you continually over reacted. What you should have done was be calmer about the situation and sort things out in a considered fashion.

Flying off the handle all time is a liability on many fronts, and I can fully understand why you have been taken out of the equation based on what I have seen in the public areas and what you have shown from the private areas.

Gogo Peter and Lykke and the best of luck getting back onna happy footing.

As Peter said, we'll find a way :) Afterall, it's not the tools that makes the forum. It's the people who makes the forum!

  16. Great job at backing up Peter without knowing any facts - good to see tho that you do back up other people tho, even when completely unjustified.

This is not (to a minor extent only) about the recent posts in the conquest thread, there have been problems before where i asked for pretty much the same - and frankly, that you start to defend things w/o knowing what's going on is a major disservice for your credibility.

If you honestly mean that asking a forum owner to back up his staff in public is to much asked for, well... i pity you.
(Altho i think we both know why you said that... ;) )

And, Peter, if you want to reduce the problems you've caused in the past to a mere "blackmailing attempt" from me... we both know this is nowhere close to what happened.

    FYI:
As a not-anymore-staff-member, i am no longer under obligation to follow your (undecided) course - as far as i am concerned, i've posted a disclaimer over on EF.

  17. To those still running the EPTracker client:
I hereby kindly request that you remove it from your system.
    (yupp, 100% my work, too)

You can simply delete the desktop link and the executeable in the "Entropia Universe" folder (that's where your chat.log is located)

Thank you for your cooperation :)

LOL Chap. As I said in the first line of my post "Well, from that snippet of a conversation you have posted there Wizz, I would wholeheartedly not want you being any part of anything I was involved with."

And further posts by you are doing nothing to assuage this perception.

No idea what you are twittering on about here.

At the end of the day, it is time for bed. Night night all :)

  19. :D
You are a perfect counter-example, because you are doing what Peter refused to do: Defend a friend in public, no matter what you may think/say behind the stages.

And, again, you would defend him even if he'd be drowning puppies in his spare times, because do not want that anyone sheds a bad light on EP or the owners - not credible, not at all.

But, i have no beef with you whatsoever - it's nice that you try to defend a friend and prevent EP from being damaged over this - not everybody handles things like that... :)

  20. Playing the part of devils advocate here:

Suppose this is all over a forum game, and how he was treated by users of this forum over that game.

If this is where the discussion stems from, and all the hurt feelings stem from, then lets look at it. The game itself was implemented for our enjoyment. He labored a bit to make it happen, and sat behind the scenes bringing it to life. It was his way of showing community spirit.

    What happened?

A few select users opted to deffecate all over his effort, and a forum war erupted over it.

Now put yourself (the reader) in his shoes. You put out effort and instead of saying "thanks for the good work" the community stepped forward and said "hey, how can we exploit this and totally screw over other members here?" Would you not feel a bit jaded regarding the community from that point forward? Would you not be looking for someone to step forward and help you take care of your efforts and do them justice? And in the absence of care from the community, would you not question your desire to participate on the same level you did before?

Im not saying everyone here should accept his resignation and indignation with smiles. But we should understand our part in creating it. If we cant even do that... well.. then he was probably right to cease support.
