The weekend of Nov 24th and 25th presented entertaining moments at Fort Zeus on Planet Calypso during the official opening of the 4th annual Entropia Universe World Boxing Championships (EUWBC). While some fighters managed to win every round in their match, their opponents did not make it easy for them. Some rounds were simpler to call than others, and some you just didn’t know until it was down to the wire. Even then it was far too close to say for certain, until a fighter hit the floor, or time was called because they reached the 3-minute mark. That’s the beauty of the EUWBC, every moment is entertaining, but there are also moments you’re sitting on the edge of your seat because it’s just that intense. There was a late start to organizing the EUWBC this year, which is most likely why there were fewer registered players than in past years, but our Master of Ceremonies, Thierry “Rag” Of Grimbergen from the Perseus society, stated that next year there will be an earlier start in hopes to get more participants. Unfortunately, as a result of fewer registrations, the three lower-weight divisions were cancelled for this year. No matches have, or will take place for either the Flyweight, Lightweight, or Welterweight classes. EUWBC 2012 is comprised only of the Middleweight and Heavyweight divisions. Also as a result of lower participation, the Society Championship was cancelled. Here are the matches from the weekend of Nov 24th and 25th, and rescheduled matches as mentioned at the end of this article due to time challenges: Middleweight Division Round 1 – (must win 3 rounds / each round 3 minutes each) florian vlooe fischer (German Survival Artists) vs. Adam Nebu Jackyll (Groene Draeck) Nebu won all 3 rounds – advanced to the Quarter FinalsQuarter Finals – (must win 3 rounds / each round 3 minutes each) Adam Nebu Jackyll vs. Blastoise Meculus Yarlboro (cK Shadows) Nebu won all 3 rounds – advanced to Semi-Finals Jennifer Jenny ferr (Swedish Hunting Society) vs. steffel earthquake zermatscher (Rangers) steffel won 3 rounds – Jenny won 1 / steffel advanced to Semi-Finals John itwasntme Remontoire (Bravo Three-Nil) vs. AL Aca Killmore (Federation of Free Wanderers) AL won all 3 rounds / advanced to Semi-Finals Ben Aurine Ike (WildD3amons) vs. April Raven Phoenix (Federation of Free Wanderers) April won all 3 rounds / advanced to the Semi-FinalsSemi-Finals – (must win 5 rounds / each round 3 minutes) Adam Nebu Jackyll vs. steffel earthquake zermatscher Nebu won all 5 rounds / advances to the Finals AL Aca Killmore vs. April Raven Phoenix AL won all 5 rounds / advances to the FinalsFinals Adam Nebu Jackyll vs. AL Aca Killmore — (match not scheduled as yet) Heavyweight Division Round 1 – (must win 3 rounds / each round 3 minutes) Brent Wildman Lansing (Alpha WildD3amons) vs. Therya Sound Tallin (Shaolin) Sound won all 3 rounds / advances to Quarter FinalsQuarter Finals – (must win 3 rounds / each round 3 minutes) FruSnabel FruSnabel FruSnabel (RELICS) vs. Jack Djonator Wolfskin (cK Coat Killers) FruSnabel won 3 rounds / Djonator won 2 rounds – FruSnabel advanced to Semi-Finals Karolina Zlotko Borkowska (Black Angels HQ) vs. Keira Gypsy Croft (Antipodean Army) Zlotko won all 3 rounds / advanced to Semi-Finals hijacker hijacker27 inferno (Soldiers of Fortune) vs. Gallyon Luckycharm Sunstrand (The Dung Kickers) Luckycharm won all 3 rounds / advanced to Semi-Finals Therya Sound Tallin vs. Lars Lars Fjelltun (Shaolin) — (match not scheduled as yet)Semi-Finals – (must win 5 rounds / each round 3 minutes) Karolina Zlotko Borkowska vs. Gallyon Luckycharm Sunstrand Luckycharm won all 5 rounds / advances to the Finals Quarter Finals winner vs. FruSnabel — (match not scheduled as yet)Finals Semi-Finals winner vs. Luckycharm — (match not scheduled as yet) As a side-note, there are still matches to be scheduled, and a couple of the matches listed were actually rescheduled and fought after last weekend due to time issues. Specifically, the match between hijacker vs. Luckycharm took place at 19:00 game time on Friday night, Nov 30th, and the match between Wildman vs. Sound took place at 23:00 game time on Saturday Dec 1st. The decision was made to give you full information as known so far. When the unscheduled matches are set, they will be listed in the “Daily HEADS UP” so that you know, and hopefully you’ll consider coming out to Fort Zeus on Calypso to support the fighters and cheer them on. It’s really a fun gathering, and being present, you get to be privey to all the smack talk that goes on – it’s quite comical. Also, at the end of all matches on a scheduled date, I generally host a “Total Chaos” event (or 2) for all people present, not just fighters, with a 50 PED prize for the last person standing. Like EUWBC, there are rules, but it’s a lot of fun, so come out and support the fighters and maybe get in on some action yourself. We wish the remaining fighters success in their efforts toward winning the title for their division. It was July 12, 2008 when Oleg “Oleg” McMullery announced the first Entropia Universe World Boxing Championships, which has grown into a very popular annual event. The EUWBC event is produced by Entropian Events, an event management, promotion and design entity that has presented many engaging events since its creation in February 2008. EUWBC is a PvP boxing tournament designed to determine who has what it takes to go the distance as a fierce fist-fighter, and come out at the end the champion of their weight division. Up until this year, Oleg has done an exceptional job of being Master of Ceremonies, but he’s taking a secondary position this year and allowing his right-hand man, Thierry “Rag” Of Grimbergen from the Perseus society, to take center ring.
