yes, the winxp mode is working like a charme. I tried it on Windows 8 on an old laptop.

And if you really want to bu some "old XP laptop", check ASUS eeepc 900 or Sony VAIO Laptops, between 60 and 90 Euros.

Tower Desktop PCs arent worth the 20 Euro extra shipping cost ;O

Thanks Jamira still finding this all really interesting. But lately Entropia isn't getting a lookin' for me. I have recently resurrected an old half dead Thinkpad that runs winXP. I patched it to get wifi working. Alas I can tell you it has only 160MB of working RAM, a 350MHz PII CPU and a 2.5MB (yes really) gfx card. Even 24bit video overlays are limited to 320x240. Don't even THINK about 3D ;)

I seem to remember as well as that you could literally run Windows XP as a virtual machine in a window (not just applications in winxp MODE) in windows 7, without any third party software... this should virtualise the hardware and everything (I expect, but don't take my word for it).

I remember I tried it once when Windows 7 first came out, I definitely remember it working although I never tried any games. I can't remember where the win XP resource came from. Somewhere on MS's site I think? Or maybe installing virtual PC gives you some download options - I honestly can't remember I'm afraid

If 3D Ripper DX is unable to inject itself into application, it can enter global monitoring mode. In this mode, 3D Ripper DX sits in tray and injects itself into every launched application

Well, probably we'll have some new and exciting options. Kinda work in progress. Could happen that we'll be able to visit some old places and make some walkthroughs. Lot of additional material from another party. Dunno yet how good it is and what I can do with it with 3DS Max. We'll see soon. Stay tuned!
