G4TV: Nintendo Releasing Wiimote With Built In MotionPlus?

Eagle-eyed bloggers over at Nintendo Life spotted something interesting in a game listing at GameStop's website. According to the game's box art, The Wii title FlingSmash is bundled with something called the "Wii Remote Plus" which may be a Wiimote with a built in Motion Plus device... of course, it may be a misprint on the cover, too.

The descriptive text included with the game seems to contradict the box. It reads:

"Using the Wii Remote controller with the Wii MotionPlus accessory, you’ll fling Zip at targets to smash your way across eight colorful worlds."

So it is a mystery for now. But it seems to make sense that Nintendo, faced with the release of motion-control systems from both of their competitors, would sell Wiis with full motion control included, instead of the weird (and weirdly expensive) Wii remote plus Motion Plus. I'm surprised it's taken this long, honestly.

But on the other hand, all of the major conventions of the year (E3, GamesCom, TGS) have come and gone, and those would have been great times to announce the launch of a new controller.

In any case, I'll try to get some word from Nintendo about this, and if I hear anything other than "no comment," I'll let you know.
