  1. [IMG]Along with revealing that downloadables made the company more money than boxed products, and confirming that most of their games are on-schedule, yesterday's investor call from Activision/Blizzard revealed another important detail about the company's gameplan: The MMO that Blizzard is working on, and a Bungie project, are based on original IP, so you can stop waiting for World of Starcraft.

“And remember, we have two enormous investments: one in Bungie and the other in another project at Blizzard that we haven’t given a lot of visibility to. Those are going to be entirely new intellectual properties," Activision head Bobby Kotick said.

“But with the recognition that the way to build them is take long amounts of time, lots of capable talent, an enormous amount of capital and you have to have a real road-map for innovation and creativity, and I think that those are going to be two very good examples from the ground up original ideas.”

So there you have it, folks -- an entirely original MMO from the makers of World of Warcraft. There's no word on what stage of development the game is in, although I'm guessing very, very early.
