Ex-Ubisoft creative director of the Splinter Cell franchise and Far Cry 2 design head Clint Hocking has teamed up with LucasArts to start work on an “unannounced project."

Hocking parted ways with Ubisoft back in April after almost 10 years with the company. Hocking explained on his blog that his resignation was more based on a desire to “bid farewell to those tragically comforting habits” that had started to form.

While this still might be the primary reason for his departure, it appears, in light of his being snatched up by LucasArts less than four months later, that perhaps a potentially tempting offer from the House the Force Built could have contributed to the decision in some minor way.

Or perhaps Hocking was spot on when he explained in his resignation post, “The odds of me having the same luck I had the last time I took such a step may be 10,000 to one again, but this time I hope my ability and willingness to do the hard work are beyond question.”

Given his track record, there is no doubting Hocking’s skills, and honestly, I can’t wait to hear what he and his new team have cooking.
