Do you love your Xbox 360? And I mean really love it? Like, the thought of hearing your new slim 360’s snazzy new boot up chimes actually brings a tear to your eye? If so, then…weird. Still, Major Nelson has a way to ease the pain you must certainly feel whenever you’re away from your beloved console and you aren’t able to hear your favorite console-generated chimes.


That’s right. Move over Crackdown agility orb tone and the Achievement Unlocked “boop bop” sound. There are two new cellphone ringtones in 360-town: the slim 360’s power on and tray open dings.

The sounds seem much better suited for use for alerts since they’re so short, but unless you feel like jailbreaking your iPhone, it’s ringtone or nothing.

The bigger “news” here is that the custom boot up sound built into the Halo: Reach limited edition 360 will be in ringtone format next week for those with insatiable Halo/nerdy ringtone appetites.
