If you have any interest in Nintendo’s dimensional-skewing 3DS, then be sure to mark September 29 on your calendars. Not because the handheld’s release date has been bumped up several months, but because that’s when Nintendo plans to reveal the price and official release date for the device. Nintendo revealed the announcement date in Bloomberg Japan, VG247 reports, which means Nintendo plans to share the pertinent details following Tokyo Game Show, since the convention lasts from Sept. 16-19. Guess Nintendo wants to make sure all eyes are solely on them for the big reveal. Plus, it gives them more time to ramp up the already manic levels of anticipation surrounding the 3DS. Nintendo of America head Reggie Fils-Aime said following E3 2010 that the 3DS would be out before March 2011, but I guess we’ll have to wait until September to find out for sure.
