  1. Assassin's Creed games not enough for you? Well, you'll be pleased to hear that Ubisoft just announced they are developing a new comic book mini-series based on their hit stealth action franchise.

The series is being developed by illustrators Cameron Sterwart and Karl Kerschl, and will receive its official unveiling during Ubisoft’s "Assassin’s Creed: Behind and Beyond the Brotherhood” panel during Comic-Con 2010 next week, which will be moderated by X-Play's own Morgan Webb.

“We always thought that the Assassin’s Creed universe would be perfect for transmedia initiatives like this new comic series,” Ubisoft Montreal’s transmedia senior producer Mathieu Ferland said in a press release. “We are excited to have the fantastic and acclaimed artists Cameron Stewart and Karl Kerschl working on the project. Ubisoft is looking forward to showing Assassin’s Creed fans what these talented artists have been up to at next week’s Comic-Con panel.”

The setting of Assassin's Creed 3 remains a mystery, however Ubisoft have revealed that the comic series will take place in Russia, and will apparently have something to do with the famous Tunguska event, which evidently wasn't caused by a meteoroid after all (an exploding Templar perhaps?).

Whether the comic series will have any crossover with the recently revealed Assassin’s Creed art book project, but I guess all will be revealed next week.
