Fresh off the recent Assassin’s Creed comic book announcement, Ubisoft revealed today they have collaborated with DC Comics’ WildStorm Productions to create a comic series based on their white-knuckled racing franchise Driver. The comic is illustrated by Greg Scott (Gotham Central, Case Files: Sam and Twitch) and written by David Lapham (Stray Bullets, Sparta USA, Young Liars), and fills in the gap between the end of Driver 3 and the next year’s Driver San Francisco. "When looking at how to present Tanner's story leading into Driver San Francisco,” Ubisoft Reflections creative director Martin Edmondson said in a statement to the press, “doing a comic book was a perfect fit; we could tell the story in a gritty, hard-edged fashion using cinematic visuals and emotional set pieces, yet in a palatable and mainstream medium." Ubisoft will be giving away copies of a special Issue 0 during Comic-Con this week at their booth as well as at DC Comics’. Also, cover artist Jock will be on hand for signings at various times throughout the week. If you plan to attend the show, here are the times and locations: Thursday, July 22nd, 2-3pm, DC Comics booth (#1915) Friday, July 23rd, 11am-12 noon, Ubisoft booth (#4245) Friday, July 23rd, 4-5pm, DC Comics booth (#1915) Saturday, July 24th, 3-4pm, DC Comics booth (#1915) What’s the best video game-based comic book/series you’ve read?
