As gamers, we are all too familiar with a HUD (Heads Up Display), which typically is meant to describe the area of the screen that displays relevant information to players. In Entropia Universe, the HUD is the lower part of your screen, displaying such information as your radar, health-bar, information about which weapon you have equipped, and ammunition left (among other information). Google, apparently is working on real-life HUD glasses: More info here: http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/02/21/google-to-sell-terminator-style-glasses-by-years-end/
First stage in mass carnage on the roads as drivers pay more attention to augmented reality than to what's in front of them
I like seeing the terms 'Augmented Reality' and 'wearable computing' becoming a reality. I believe that the power of current (and future) phones combined with bluetooth (or whatever other wireless technology's) should allow for a broad range of modular systems that can be worn in a non obstructive manner. We already have the phones, bluetooth enabled ear pieces, watches, and medical monitoring devices all currently being used. Adding a HUD set of glasses to this mix as well as other specialized or generic devices should allow consumers to customize their personal setup however they need. I am looking forward to how it all progresses. narfi
