Hanging Entropia.exe

    Before i start a close fight with support 8)i want to evaluate if i be the only one who got a bug back that was gone since some VU´s.
    So plz tell me if you have the same issue since last(post) VU`s > 9.
    If i quit the game , the logout counter runs to zero and then shows the disconnecting message and thats it. The screen remains this way and in some cases i can switch tasks , run the taskmanager and terminate entropia.exe manually. In some cases i cannot switch tasks and have to reboot my comp with the reset key. As sayed , i had such behaivior some VU´s ago and it was gone for a long time and seemsto be back now.

    I'm sorry to hear that Stratos. I imagine support will answer you something like "We have not heard any other reports of this, but will pass your comments to the design team." :hehe:

    Yes I have also experienced this a few times since VU9, and usually I have to actually reset and reboot the computer to get out of the frozen exit screen. It seems to happen more often when I login using the P-3 comp with 512mb ram, less often using the P-4 with 2gb ram, so perhaps CPU or ram is a factor.

    I didnt think that the ram is the problem for me , running a dualcore cpu and 2 Gigabyte RAM and hadnt have this prob for a long time.

    I have the same problem. It only hangs for a while though and sorts itself out eventually.

    I quite often have to use 'task manager ' but not reboot

    Same here. Sometimes, possibly when the PC has been on for a long time, that happens and I need to terminate EU from the Task Manager. I never had to reboot the PC, however.

    It's probably a common problem. Nothing to worry about Stratos ;)

    Mine hangs for a bit ( 2-3 minutes ) then eventually closes. I have 512mb of RAM now, but I will be upgrading to 2 GB very soon.

    Yes I've seen exactly that behaviour a few times. I belive it started with the VU that introduced windowed mode. I guess that they changed the way they use directx, and it seems to have trouble getting out of this mode.

    Windoze Media Center does the same to me quite a lot too, not only does it crash but locks directx into a black screen and makes it damn hard to get out to tak manager to kill it. :(

    I've got the same problem.
    Now and then. Mostly when I have 6 programs running (chat, itunes, torrent program, fraps, peass and ofcourse Entropia) or more. But Hey thats asking for something like that.

    I havent played this month so I don't know whats new.

    Thank you all for the answers , i see i´m not the only one with this issue.
    Now i can continue the SC below without the feeling to generate only hot air ;)
    will see if they forward it to the programmers next time :confused:

    I have no problem getting out of entropia.
    I played today after a break of nearly a month and in a hour playing got to errors so Entropia closed itself and needs to restart after a few minutes.
    Whoohoo.
