We had an idea... maybe to make a bit of money, maybe just to help people out a bit. I hate putting anything in the TT... I feel like I am depriving someone of something they might need... but for low TT items (eg. paint) or low markup items (eg. animal oils) it is not practical to put them on the auction. So... we thought that if people are willing to sell us the stuff that they would normaly TT... we will either save it up until we have enough to auction, or set up trade links with people who will use these items. So would you be prepared to sell us your stuff? If there are any of this type of item that you use post details here. Depending on your responses I will deposit and post further details here. In theory if we manage to make profit it would either be used to continue donating competition prizes, or to offer a higher price for purchases. Let me know what you think...
Good idea , i will sell you mine . Only problem i foresee is whether or not you will be online when i need the peds . If you can create a list of the items best suited , i will keep them aslong as possible.:ok:
It is a great idea assuming the person buying is 24/7 online. Just kidding. Well I'm ok with this but I have a habit most of us, if not all, probably have. I use the profit from selling the TT items to repair my blade and continue hunting. So, I would need a buyer who would buy instantly in TT price (don't mind markup, really) what I usually drop to TT. Hides, Wool and Paints I do not TT because I give them to a soc mate. But I don't mind giving all TT stuff to you Red and let this idea work. :)
This idea interests me a little, but unlike others I tend to stockpile TT stuff myself (I rarely TT anything). Maybe it'd be worth using a service like this to do the selling, but I can do it myself for probably better profit since I don't need it instantly. But this is a great idea for those that just want to get rid of the stuff ASAP and will accept TT value for convenience.
Erach - I used to be the same, when I deposited regularly, I kept everything... I crafted with most of what I looted, and only sold if I had a friend who needed it... but poverty :-({|= has changed my habits. I am really only initially interested in buying what people are only going to TT... if you have a buyer, or the patience to stockpile and then sell yourself - I do not want to steal your profits... It seems that a lot of people have trade relationships with crafters etc... if I can find regular buyers for stuff I will be able to offer a markup on these items... but if you can be bothered to sell it yourself you will make better profits than off me.
that is a really good idea i am trying to get my tailoring skills up so any paint,wool and skins i would buy;)
So. Is the moral of that story that kids consume all your money? :D And back to the point - gratz for doing this. I do hate seeing stuff go to the TT, so I'm glad to see any venture that stops this happening :-) Erach.
Bah, I misread the question. There is no problem for me to sell items with low markup. I'm also trying to buy animal eye & muscle oil from society members as it has relatively low markup (under 105%).
Sounds like we have a few people interested, so I have ordered a gold card, and I will deposit as an Xmas pressie to myself. If you see me or Phunk online we will buy your TT stuff off you... I will try to get online each afternoon (if baby sleeps - normally 1 hour between 12 & 3) and in the evening for around 9. If you can hang on to your stuff till you see us, great - if you need the PED quicker TT it. I don't want to cause problems for people. If you know anyone who wants to buy this type of stuff - send them my way. I will post some more details when I have my new toy, and loads of PED. Thanks.
