I have never been there. I remember the release of Next Island and how ND seemed to make it yet another place to show off his narcissistic side. It made me sick and irritated, thus I have not visited the place. Arkadia, however, does not show the same side. The only problem with Arkadia is the same problem like each planet has at the moment being that the market is hard to get started. Hopefully each planet, may it be Next Island, Arkadia or Calypso, finds their own population. This would also guarantee that MA doesn't go bankrupt, i.e. my avatar won't be worth zero PED. I therefore do not wish bad upon any planet - but I will leave Next Island to those whom can forgive a narcissistic asshole for making a planet advertised as fantasy- and history based into a part of his very much needed diagnosis.
As far as I gather, there has been a parting of the ways between NI staff and ND. In any case, ND has his very own island, to the East of the main island. If you don't want to be reminded of ND, simply stay on the main island, and leave the eastern island alone. There is absolutely nothing on the main island to scream ND at you. You wouldn't know that he'd had anything to do with the place jay :)
The scenery there is really nice. I'm hoping I'll be able to go back and explore it properly once I upgrade my computer :)
I went to Next Island today, I often doing some sightseeing in NI once a month or so. This is the first time I went to NI since the update of 31th January. They changed the whole Crystal Center, and it is not beautiful anymore, the whole new Crystal Center like a area that full of big junk box, totally different from original NI style. Not sure if it is my problem or because of the night, I feel that there are full of mist like has a heavy pollution. Don't think I will go to NI anytime soon, until they changed the building style back to the past.
Yes, Crystal Center has changed, and you're not the only one who doesn't like it, but it is only Crystal Center, the rest of the island is as it was. As for the fog, one of the objectives for a patch due tomorrow, 7th Feb - see http://www.nextisland.com/blog/known-issues-for-next-weeks-patch/.
LOL yeah I have made my opinion known about the dislike for the new crystal center........SUCKS big time! But its not just crystal center that has that nasty fog :(
Why not? The story there does not interest me, and I do not like how deMonchy was pimping her product on TV without disclaiming that she had a dog in the fight. The whole McNeverdie fiasco didn't do anything to sway my opinion either.
I sort of like the look and unlike other people I think it matches the lush tropical paradise that is NI. But unfortunately although I like the look I hate the layout, they could not have made it any worse. (No idea what they were thinking)
Well I didn't get too far exploring NI to be honest. I was around the start area a bit then off on the mission to go back in time. I "walked" (not ran) all the way to the cave and since then been in ancient greece. Which I really like. So yes a lot of NI to experience still. Not been to the CND bit but thats fine. I liked RT in end and I think what the dev staff did with NI was good. Generally the NDS staff are very good at creating realistic relief (far better than Caly) and interesting places to explore. What they do is FUN and thats the difference.
nope... not yet. Maybe never... I own too much property on Calypso to just abandon it, even if it is just for a few days.
