Hello everyone, I'm Andrew Jenery and I'm helping out with a very new e-zine called Entropia Star, which does news type articles on EU. I'm mainly doing outreach stuff and some editing work on articles... I can see that EU Chronicle is a bit higher-up than our humble attempt at web publishing, but we're on a learning curve ;)
Thanks everyone, I've been having a good look round the site and there's certainly alot of info here on Entropia Universe. The how and whyfore of Entropia Star... In November 09 I started a little enterprize called TMT to do something in web publishing, but me and my GF couldn't think of exactly what type of site. We wanted to do something newsy but didn't have the funds or knowhow for anything too complex, so we thought of maybe a well known mmorpg. Initially we thought World of Warcraft by Blizard, but then realized that we would either have to know someone in that game that could get stories for us, or we would have to create accounts ourselves. The problem. We didn't know anyone who played WoW and we didn't really want to spend a monthly sub' fee on it either! Then, slightly later in February this year I had a purely chance meeting in a local pub with an old friend, and at some point during the chit-chat he mentioned Entropia Universe and that he had been taking part in it for some years under the alter ego of PlayerOfGames. Before this I hardly knew anything about Entropia at all, and I didn't know about EU Chronicle or any of the other community sites either. Basically, he showed me the basics of the game at his residence and the more I watched this avatar interacting with creatures and other avatars, the more I realized that this was what I wanted to have a news site about. He said I should sign-up and get an account, but I knew that if I did that then I would be playing it all the time and not get any work done, plus he did mention that EU can be expensive. So this is why I started my site. I get alot of info via SE's and some from PlayerOfGames, and have had some articles submitted by other participants of Entropia as well. It's getting complicated and my site's only five weeks old, but I'm having fun doing it... Would like to exchange ideas, etc, in future with EU Chronicle members :)
Hi aj... Only glad I could help... Just to think that I only went in that pub for a quiet drink - then I ended up showing you the inns-and-outs of EU BTW - I've been experiencing the fun of driving a Valkyrie MK1 somewhere on Rocktropia...
Welcome to you and I wish you all the best with your site. A freind of our friend is always a new friend - friend. *tongue tied*
