Just wanted to say hello and that I have enjoyed my time playing entropia so far! anyone have any tips for someone starting out? Also is it worth it to deposit?
Welcome to EU and entropiaplanets, I hope you will have a good time in both. Tips for a new player, well the best one I can give you is that you do the beginners missions on whatever planet you are at the moment, explore that planet and learn about it creatures and locations, get all the Teleporters on that planet so you can move more easily. Also stay withing your skillset. This game isn't like any other game out there, it is not a question of buying the biggest weapon you can find and start hunting, this will cost you a lot of money. Stick with the Trade Terminal weapons for a while during your explorations and look at the stats of the weapons if you are planning to upgrade, be sure you can use it properly (it will show 100% at the skill requirements). Last tip I can give you is ask questions and be patience it will take a long time compared to other games to get any skills worth mentioning. Is it worth depositing, well for the first few weeks I would not and just explore the planet and try sweating to gather some skills. Then you could deposit a bit, so you do not have to sweat anymore, 15 dollar a month will get you a long way if you play smart. If you do the math on sweating it is a very time consuming activity and if you have a RL job, you would probably make more money with that in an hour then you can earn sweating in a week, choice is yours. Changing your mood, just click it and you will get a mood chooser.
Well, not getting a mood chooser for whatever reason lol. But thanks! That's helpful! I got the little white car so far and I had someone help me out with a few rookie weapons and I have been attacking some creatures and its pretty fun. I haven't mined yet though but I hear you make a lot of money like that!
mmm, making a lot of money mining, well if that was the case we all would do that. Basically the only way to make money is by playing smart as I mentioned. The trick is to get a return on your activities as close to 100% as you can get and the rest you would get in markup from other players. The overall perception is that you get a return of 90% on any activity in the long run IF you play smart. The way to get as close to 100% return is to get weapons and tools that are as eco as they can get. Problem with that is that the most eco tools are also the most expensive, so you have to find a setup that works for you and your budget. I have been doing some tests on both Arkadia and Cyrene and are at about 90% return with Trade Terminal gear, so you should be able to do that as well. You got the white car, so I assume you are on Calypso, right?
Yes I am on Calypso :). Alright, so the TT gun is ECO, got it! I will try my hand at hunting for a while and see how I turn out :D
there are weapons that are more eco, but they cost a lot more then the TT one, but for now the TT one is pretty nice for a beginner.
Hiya Sasha from Cali! Welcome to EU, and Calypso! No matter if you decide to depo or not, there is plenty to see and experience w/o ever dropping a pec. Supporting the devs, the community, and your own desires by putting some money in the game can be a good thing. If you have time, explore as much as possible. See all there is to see on Calypso, the other planets, and in Space aboard privateers and motherships. Many offer free flights. There's a multitude of people from around the globe that will happily engage you in conversation, offer you pointers, and just show you around. Take care! Good luck!
As I always say, there is a LOT of space in Entropia so tons to do exploring. If you want to try mining, see if you can get hold of a newbie mining tool. They only cost 1 probe per attempt so very cheap. Its a good way to try it out without spending a lot of cash. I would actually say there are a lot of missions and things to do that give you stuff. When you think you are cleared of free things to do on Caly. Then ask if a friendly soul will take you to another planet. Each has starting missions and gear. You can get a lot of fun for free by doing the newbie experience on each planet. Hopefully you can get a lift there for free. Or maybe try being a crew member on a mothership - good fun! I think to do so though you would need a rk5 which fixes vehicles. Being a crew member on a mothership is a little like on startrek where the cockpit keeps exploding whenever you get attacked. Its funny. Wistrel
additionally.. Not sure where you get the newbie mining gear now... it seems to have gone from the calypso TT :'((
Sasha, u asked about mood changer, in game Press L, open action library, scroll thru, u can drag any of those icons to dektop or press G ( keyboard ) and assign to a key of your choice. GL in game.
