How much do you think the sweat bug will impact the game?

  1. As i am guessing most people that are at this forum already know by now there has been a bug that gave vibrant sweat as mining loot.
This bug was there for several days, and even a poor deposit of vibrant sweat could generate over a thousand ped with markup for the lucky finder.
The people who first found this bug probably stayed up 24 hours per day and mined the heck out of the place, and considering even a poor could easily give a thousand ped, and a large, which are quite easy to get, would give up to ten thousand peds worth of sweat... well... you get the idea...
i cant speak for others, but if it was me that found it first i would have several hundred thousands ped worth of sweat, and since more than one person did it i can only imagine how many hundreds of thousands or even millions of ped that have been dug up already.... since a handful of people made a huge fortune i cant help but to wonder how this will impact on the sweat market... are a couple of people going to get rich because of a bug, or is mindark changing the sweat to something else, or perhaps give us ten times the sweat we get from mobs, or are they just going to let it be, and let the lucky people get rich? what do you think?

  2. sorry about double posting, but i will also submit a support case and ask them. i will post their reply here when i get it. but in the meantime, keep speculating :) (and posting your thoughts)

    ***edit**
response recieved... i said i know the bug was fixed but wanted to know what happened to the other millions of peds worth of sweat already dug up...
their reply was simply "it has been fixed" ... er... i know it has, thats what i said.. lol... i am guessing they are reluctant to reply, and why would they be if they are not going to let the people keep the millions of peds?
no matter, support case fixed, time to play :)

  3. do you have any idea how hard it would be to find a buyer for millions of peds worth of sweat? lol

  4. To keep things into perspective: The market is already flooded with more sweat that there is need for, and that's something that reflects to the price of sweat that has fallen bellow 3 ped. There's simply not enough need for Mind essence after the cars and the introduction of synthetic ME, with most people buying the sweat they do to help newcomers and players that have sweating as their only source of income.

Can those that mined sweat make a profit? Probably, but only if they stood for hours trying to sell in small batches, something that trust me, would take forever and a day...

  5. 5 points,

A, synthetic me isnt to blame for the price of sweat, as before hand attack and heal chips were barely used as the markup of ME made it pointless, so the introduction of synthetic me really didnt change the demand much at all

B, rocktropia now uses sweat in blueprints

C, Teleports are still used as its instant travel, faster than vehicles

D, Demand may be increased on this planet just like they did on rocktropia. I saw one RT BP that uses 50 sweat per click, 1k clicks = 50k sweat gone :)

E, Resellers are the biggest cause of the price of sweat being percieved to be low, its up to the sweaters to decide if thiey sell to a reseller and get a crap deal, or hold out for a honest player that buys at 5-6 ped/k regardless. Its thier time and sweat, its thier choice to make.

  6. To clear my point that i tried to make it short and simple: Price of sweat fell because of the Resellers/speculators, who were hoarding huge amounts of sweat waiting for the return of MF, and flooded the market in ridiculously low prices after the introduction of SME trying to get at least a part of their ped back.
Synth ME is not to blame, and in my eyes it is a godsend, but it did bring out the problem that i stated above. More uses for sweat are definitely needed, because although TP chips are still in use, they're certainly not used as much since the introduction of vehicles, thus dropping the demand.

And although i know that people love bashing ND, i really appreciate the fact that he decided to use Vibrand Sweat as a BP ingredient.

    Still think we disagree?
