EVENTS The Project Entropia Event System allows participants to create and administer exclusive Events throughout the Virtual Universe. Event System Basics There are three main types of Events that can be created in the Virtual Universe. PvP Events are combat Events where participants battle each other for points. Hunting Events involve hunting different creatures on Calypso. Voting based Events are Events where particpants vote for the winner of the Event. Events may be organized on Land Areas where the Land Area Owner has activated the Public Event Area option. This can be viewed by accessing the Land Claim UI located at each Land Area. Events also take place on the Asteriod. By accessing the Land Area Controllers for the different domes on the Asteriod, you can again view if the Public Event Area option is available. Finally, Events may also take place in special Event Areas throughout Calypso, such as the Fort Ithaca bar and the catwalk north of Nymphtown for example. These Event Areas have a special Event Organizer NPC located there. By clicking on the Event Organizer NPC you will gain access to the Event System for that Area. Event System Details Introduction Once you've accessed the Event System you will be presented with the Event List. Use the Event Calendar icon to view the specific scheduling details for the Area (see below). The Event List contains all the Events scheduled in that Area. Use the Search input field or click on an Event to inspect further details. The Inspect Event window allows you to view details about a chosen Event. It also contains the option of registering for the chosen Event (if there are still public tickets available). The Event Calendar allows you to view the specific scheduling details for the Event Area you are in. An Event may last from thirty minutes to four hours and the colored Segments display booked (pink), free (grey) and unavailable (purple) scheduling times. The Event Calendar allows you to view event scheduling over a four week period. The Create button begins the Create Event process. Components An Event is comprised of the following components, which must be determined during the Create Event process, or which can be viewed while inspecting an Event: The Event Name The name of the Event. The Event Promoter The creator of the Event. The Event Description A description of the Event you are inspecting. When creating an Event you may enter a decription of it here. The Event Calendar The Event Calendar will allow you to view scheduling for an Event Area, or allow you to schedule your own Event during the Create Event process. The Event Rules While inspecting an Event you will be able to view the Event Rules as set by the Event Promoter. During the Create Event process you may determine the rules yourself. Rules include which type of Event it is: PvP, hunting or Vote based. The Rules also allow you to enable/disable PvP (in PvP Events), allow/disallow healing, accumulate spent ammunition in the prize pool etc. A full description of all the rules are available as tooltips when you hover the cursor over each rule in the Rules window. The Event Prize Items Again, view the Prize Items offered by the Event Promoter or add your own Prize Items during the Create Event process. While determining the Prize Items during the Create Event process, your inventory will be automatically opened allowing you to transfer items into the Prize Items window. The Event Paricipants Only available while inspecting an Event, the Event Participants window presents a list of all registered particpants for an Event. The Event Tickets View ticket details for an Event you are inspecting, or determine the Tickets Settings you wish during the Cretae Event process. During the creation process you may decide how many tickets you wish to create, the price of the tickets, and if you wish to reserve any tickets to sell yourself. Tickets for Events are, by default, sold by accessing the Event Organizer NPC. However, by reserving a number of tickets for yourself during the Create Event process, they will be transfered to your inventory and you will be able to give away, trade or sell them as you wish. There is a charge associated with Reserved Tickets. This can be viewed when determining your ticket settings during the Create Event process. Registration To register for an Event you must first choose it from the Event List window. You will be able to review all the component settings before clicking the Register button. Once in the Register window you may use your PED card to buy a public ticket (if there are still public tickets available). You may also drag a valid ticket into the Register window if you have one. Simply press the Register button when you're finished and you will be registered for the Event. Creation Press the Create button on the Event List window. You will now be able to customize your Event by determining the setting for all the components listed above. All Events have an Event Creation Charge which is a standard fee for initiating an Event. There is also an Event Area Charge which varies depending on which area you wish to hold your Event in. The Event Area Charge is displayed as a 'per hour' rate. The Total Event Cost is the final sum for creating the Event. N.B. The Total Event Cost also includes the cost of any Reserved Tickets that you may have created. Once you are satisfied with your Create Event settings press Create. You will be presented with a total review of all charges and asked to confirm your settings. Once you have confirmed, your Event will be created. Please note that a hunting Event staged in, for example a bar, might note be a very exciting event. It is therefore important to choose the Event type and Rules carefully during the Create Event process. During an Event During an active Event, you will be able to allocate one positive and one negative Reputation point to other participants through the active Event window. You can also rate the Event whereby the Event Promoter will recieve Promoter Rating points. During a Vote based event you will also be able to cast your vote for the participant you wish to win. The Active Event window, which is always present during an active Event, also allows the Event Promoter the option of aborting an Event. It also allows particpants to review Prize Items, see a list of the Event Particpants and view the Event Rules. Each window of the Event System contains a Help function in the upper right corner. Please use this Help if you experience any difficulties.
