Furthermore, i've finally managed to fix the discontinuity in the version updates prior to VU 10.3.0.0!!!
All updates from VU 10.0 are available now for everyone who didn't update for a while.

Nonetheless i recommend you uninstall older client versions completely and use the actual "Full installation"
(link can be found on bottom of post #6 or in the opening post and will always link the latest full installation file known)
The update to version 10.3.0.0 IS a full installation anyway, so there is nothing to gain by going through all the old updates.


And last but not least:

MA still did not manage to code the updater properly and it may appear frozen when patching large files. You can tell a "frozen" update apart from a simply "busy" one by the increased activity of your hard drive.

This update may take up to several minutes, depending on how fast your hard drive is and what other processes are putting additional load on your HD - however, generally this is the best advice:

Do not abort the updater, even if it appears to be frozen!
(you may corrupt your installation and need to do a full re-install otherwise)

And once again the following applies:

Please check if this folder exists on your wifes computer:

C:\Users\<her username>\AppData\Local\Temp\entropia\

 

If you are familiar with the registry, please fire up regedit and check what's stored under this key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MindArk PE AB\Entropia Universe\InstallFolder

If you just copy the entire folder from your pc to hers it maybe doesn't have this key, and MA changed a lot of things with VU 10, like default installation folder and such...

 

First of all, please do not post your email address in public, you never know who might see it and what people do with it.

Then, if you read the opening post in this thread carefully, you surely noticed that you can find the direct download link to the update you need in post #6

If you still experience problems, try downloading it with a download manager as suggested in the opening post (many people have trouble with aborting downloads, easily spotted when you compare the file size of the downloaded update with the file size listed in post #6)

download.entropiauniverse.com is configured not to respond to ping requests, so this is normal.

On the other hand, it is not normal that you cannot download the updates from there.
You are the first one reporting problems that MAs own update server is unreachable, so i assume it is a problem with your ISP in particular.

However, i am trying to get the updates you need hosted here on EP (or on an external mirror), please hold on.

 

This is todays update, and not hosted on MAs servers, Julian has problems with the patches prior to that which are hosted on the MA update server.

This is news to me (and invalidates a lot of my links, tyvm MA :/ )

They must have changed it within the last days, as you have downloaded all the last patches from the links that are no longer working now...

However, thanks for reporting :)

At least we don't have to deal with 2 different locations from now on - i will try and review all the links when i find some time.

 

The last patches are available for download from EP now.

However, as all the last links to the original file sources are outdated, i need to rework a lot of this thread - this may take some time, please bear with me.

Until the reworking is complete:
If you need a particular file please PM me and i will send you the link.

This includes the link to the very last update (todays update, Update_10.8.0.42477-10.8.1.42850.exe) which is hosted outside of EP at the moment.






Furthermore, please note that if you have modified your hosts file in the past, please delete the changes - this might cause additional trouble with reaching the download mirrors now, not sure why...
The problems that made the changes in the hosts file necessary were temporary anyway and should no longer be needed.
