Is Arkadia dead or what??... yesterday, various tp's 2 avatars...today, various tp's 3 avatars ! cost me a fair few peds to get to Arkadia.
Plenty of people on Arkadia. Most people trade at the quarry, if that's what you're looking for. There are many tourists from Caly atm, most out hunting Scoria or the other IFN mission mobs.
thx for the responses so far.. I normally avoid trading spots, I like to chillout with good company when loots are bad but if the trading spots have only 20 players or so.. it doesn't look good really does it?... arkadia has been here for a bit now and it looks great since the earlier days but evn when I use TP chip to random spots... no avatars are seen.
If you listen to the interview with David (the CEO) he will tell you that they really wanna get all the systems in there before they really start to advertise. This January the new player stuff will be in and that's when all the advertisement will start and in March treasure hunting and more advertisement. He told us they have already partnered up with a company to do some of that work, but did not mention the name (if I remember correctly).
There are more players than you see. Like Razer said, Arkadia is still starting up. The economy works fine, we need more traders though. It can be difficult to unload some hunting loot without using the auction.
Suppose to be .. but by whom ? :) Entropia is, has always been and will most likely continue to be dynamic. The 'big cities' and capitals set by a planet partner or MindArk doesn't have to be what people consider being 'their' big city. Do you remember 'old' Hadesheim, which was suppose to be calypso capital city? It was deserted. Instead people went to Twin Peaks =)
I know! T_T Such a beautiful city... Twin Peaks is like the high-end economic center... dunno why though... What ever happened to Port Atlantis? It was quite a concurred place too...
I appreciate the youth of the planet.. I love it here I really do, it shows great promise, but I also notice the serious lack of new players, everyone i've bumped into so far have been playing for years. Best place though for me is celeste harbour.. when there are people there it's always a good atmosphere with great humour, especially due to there being the moonshine bar! with comfy seating but no booze , I had to walk all the way to my own IRL fridge today:) thx razer..and others, your input has been great. I tend not to go too deep into things and just say it as I see it. cheers.
Don't get me wrong Hellraizer, I do agree that there need to be more people on Arkadia even if it is only to get all the new stuff David mentioned are based on the amount of players on the planet. But the planet is, as it's inhabitants, very young and needs to grow up a bit more. With the update in January and the newbie experience that will bring, the planet will be doing a big step in the right direction I think, and once that is done, and the advertisement will kick in, more people will come and hopefully stay (depending on what the A-team is really planning). Then with the treasure hunting on March I think a lot of people from other planets will come and check that out (and maybe go back home after a few weeks) but if the A-team make that worth while and people can easily sell their loot (think David said 200-400 new BP's with that update) they might stay. And with even more advertisement (which I assume will be there with treasure hunting working) even more people will come. What I try to say is that for a young planet the content we have already and the plans for the next few months this could be the biggest planet out there in the summer of 2012. But of course there will be 2 more planets by that time, so competition will be though. But as David said that is very good for us players, it will keep the PP's on their toes and they will have to develop like mad in order to keep us happy and not go of to some other planet. The way I see it we have a bright and exciting future ahead of us and that future is not to far away.
