I hear alot of opinions on this matter, so lets bring it on here Is buying skills (chipping) the same as cheating ?
I Voted No In my opinion chipping is not cheating. It is fully allowed and perfectly acceptable to do it. I think chipping is a personal thing that you either do or don't. I personally do not and will not. But that is me. I do not think any less of a person who does. Good for them if they can afford it and it helps them, then go for it. I just want to know that what I have in my stats I have earned myself.
I don't think skill chipping is cheating - the ability to transfer skills using chips is written into PE, and is the reason for having the Generic Skill Implant chips. An interesting aspect is that the cost to implant skills could be cheaper than the cost in consumables and decay to gain the skills naturally. If having better skills meant the loots were better and decay was less, then it would be best to get high skills as fast as possible. However it does not appear that higher skills automatically improve loots, so I would rather skill naturally and enjoy the journey and the scenery along the way. :-) I don't disrespect anyone for gaining skills by implants, but I am more impressed when a person has gained high skills naturally.
Here is my :twocents: Well there is no direct ling between skills and loot However i dare to say that the bigger mob the higher chance of a nice item or a ATH in the loot I also think the skill lever defines the average loot But skills dosent generate the loot itself, when the drop rate is low no skills will help you But as it is today the skill chips is actually cheaper then gaining the skills "the hard way" (that was the orgin of this discussion). Today you can buy a Riffle chip för ~275peds and that gives me almost 300 lvls of Riffle If i were to do that the old fashion way it would cost me alot more So my point on the issue is that if you can find skills for sale on a nice price, buy them! However remember that alot of skills are depending on each other so to gain maximal effect from your new chip you might need to buy several chips Ofcourse a single chip will improve your game, but maybe not as much as you would hope for..
It's definitely not cheating, but I feel it's pretty lame. Kinda like skipping to the last chapter of a book. PE to me is more like a journey, not a quick trip. The only time I would chip anything is if I hit a big HoF or an ATH.
No , chipping is not cheating , because cheating is to get advantages on an illegal way.=; I personally dont chip skills because of the cost of the important skills. Maybe it changes sometimes if i get a really fat pedcard :) I prefer to build my skills from the related actions , to get the wide amount of the different skills and to get the chances to HOF or ATH (:hehe: , i know there is something like ATH in the game , i heared so ) and last but not least to have fun ( think this is the main target of EU/ PE )
Buy or not to buy, skills Well i think it is no good, going out buying skills like rifle skills, if your aim skill is very low .... I have not sold eny skills, I have not been buying eny skill..My skills r all my own work. I like to see them climbing up all at the same time. I don't think it's cheating, buying skills... I was at the oilrig the other day and there were a few ppl there, thay where getting attacked by 2 dominent atrax and one player was killing them and killed both of them...when i scanned them i was shocked to see that there skill levels where a lot less than my skills.. It was the armour and the weopen thay had that made the difference..angle armour and a good gun.. nothing to do with skills......
I don't think it is cheating, however I won't be doing it. Not that I could afford it anyway, but that's beside the point. ;-) I see this as a fun game, I realize the money involved of course, but if it gets to the point where loots become more important than enjoyment, that's when I will quit. (I know this sounds off-topic so far but bear with me, I'm getting to my point :-D ) The challenge of building skills seems like it will be fun to me, and I believe just bypassing the ladder up would ruin that fun. So no, I dont think a player who chips is cheating, except for maybe cheating themselves out of enjoying a nice game!
