As my life plods leisurely along, everyday I am amazed by new and different things. I know that probably seems unlikely based on my advanced years but each moment of everyday brings about experiences that are uniquely different from any other. Even when conducting the most mundane of actions, such as driving into work or even washing the dishes the activity is never quite the same as any previous attempt. Such was the case just last week when I was perusing the EuChronicle forums.Every so often I pay attention to what is actually going on around me and in those rare instances I sometimes notice the subtle nuances of change that I had mentioned in the previous paragraph. What I noticed on that day was a message in the Private Message portion of the EuC page. I thought for sure that it was from Yanick as I had inquired about her recent activity in several of my posts but, as yet had not heard back from her. So, being genuinely curious and looking to kill some time at work, I opened my message section and was surprised by what I found. Phunkstra, the humble purveyor and administrator of this very site had sent me a message. I immediately suspected one of two things: 1.)I had indeed used up my allotted space with the volumes of nonsense that I had bloated the BLOG portion of this site with and he was ready to reprimand me for my inconsiderate use of shared resources. I took a swig of my Red-Bull and thought about it for a moment and remembered that he once expounded on the vastness of the repository that EuC had available to it and the relatively low cost that was associated with maintaining this extensive store. Well, he didnâ??t really say anything about the cost, but I felt that I would say that so that you would think that Iâ?¦uhâ?¦well, nevermind that. Suffice it to say that he loves this stuff and the more space the site uses the happier he is. Right, Phunk?;) 2.)The second thought that trickled into my clouded mind was thisâ?¦ Must have been a mistake. No-one ever sends me anything.:tumbleweed: So with eager trepidation I opened the message and, indeed, it was a proposalâ?¦from Phunkstra. NO! Not a marriage proposal. Jeesh! What do you think of Phunkstra? Do you actually think that he would ask for my hand in marriage?!! With all the cat s%#t that I have my hands in? Yikes and Yuck! Besides, weâ??re both married already and not to each other!. Letâ??s just drop that before this turns into a discussion about the advantages and disadvantages of homosexual as opposed to heterosexual relationships and the impact on child rearing. Iâ??m just a tired, cranky, old coot, not Oprah Freakinâ?? Winfrey! It seems that EuChronicle is in need of a â??reporterâ?? and in some temporary state of delusion, perhaps brought on by fatigue due to the stress of parenthood and employment and late nights required by both of them, Phunkstra felt that I, Yes I, would suffice for the role. His decision was probably more affected by the fact that no-one else even offered, except for jaw-production who seems like a nice enough fellow. But now that I think about it I havenâ??t really bothered Jaw directly with my banter so he may be a raucous, ruffian as well. I donâ??t know. Ask him yourself if you are really interestedâ?¦waitâ?¦Iâ??m the reporterâ?¦ Alright. Iâ??ll ask him and report back. ( Mental Note: Schedule interview with jaw-productionâ?¦ after I hear back from Yanickâ?¦scratch the Yanick partâ?¦Iâ??ll be wating forever if I â?¦) So suffice it to say that I accepted Phunkstraâ??s pathetic plea. Iâ??m a sucker for whimpering. I really felt bad with him begging and crying and all even though he said it was the baby and not him that was actually making the noises, but, I know better. Afterall, I have kids of my own and I know what a grown man sounds like when they cry. Itâ??s okay Phunkstra, just have some warm beer and lie down for a bit. Youâ??ll be okay by noon (EU time). Well, wish me luck and if I offend anyone in my upcoming news reports, event coverage, interviews etc, then I guess Iâ??m doing my job. Stay Tuned Your humble EuC Forum Reporter, Kets
Just when I was about to ask you something :) last time I looked it said BRB :) Congratulations Kets, sounds like you are going to have your work cut out. Next time I run an event I shall let you know so you can scribble stuff on a note pad.
Thank you Kets for picking up the (rather tattered) tail of reporting for EuC. Since the departure of Ben Soloist the forum has been lacking someone to 'reprazent' us to the world, and I'm hoping Ket's unique style will serve us well out there in EU. Looking forward to the next installment :) :reporter:
WOW a promotion lol GRATZ You have a unique way with words and I for one will be looking forward to your articles and interviews etc. First though is a little matter of assassination. :search:
