seen the wiki page from Tass about LA5 and it looks great. SO I was thinking maybe we could make it into a template, so that everyone wanting to make a page about a LA makes it look the same. Great feature, have in the past been looking for something like this on the other EU related wiki's. Side note: Creature is spelt wrong in the Land Area DNA and Natural Creature Spawns info boxes.
No it's not Nah, i've fixed it... In case you run into more errors: Why not edit the page yourself? Takes only a couple of seconds... in any case faster then reporting it and waiting for someone else to fix it...
Aloha, 1st: Great we have this forum section for disussing this kind of issues now. Templates are the way to go, no question. But I think organization could even start on a level above. There should be a kind of styleguide that clarifies issues of general design, for example how tables should look like. (And yes, there even should be and kind of seamless design on whole ep.com) When it comes to templates I think it would be a good idea to start on a lower level, for example creating a mob spawn template that is used inside the LA template. And regarding LAs we have to decide on naming conventions because the # in the LA names cannot be used in page names... The more organized and structured the wiki will be in the beginning the easier the work with the wiki will be in the future. Well, I don't know how to handle this exactly. Actually it would need some project management. Hm... calling Peter & Lykke for help?! Edit it ;)
Why not just follow the naming format that everyone already understands when they see OLA/LA, and use Area instead of #. Soz
I'm not sure how hard it will be to adapt the wiki style to match the forums, but it could be quite a task. I might have a go at it at some point in the future, though I'm contemplating looking for a slightly different wiki software that allows for greater flexibility (as in we can update the database through SQL statements, which would allow for all kind of additional programmability, where it now has some specific formatting that makes such things a real tedious task. Perhaps that's something we could also fix with placeholders in templates, though). At the moment, I'm focussing my time on some other things, though. I hope to be able to release that soon, and then we can see what the next little project will be :)
OK I made a template for the LA's with Tass her page on LA5 as an example. What you have to do is copy and past the code below to your LA page and just fill in the info and your page will look like the one Tass made.
