Last night when the landgrab was running towards it end and only two areas, LA14 and 19, were left up for grab I decided to go have a look at the action. First I ran over to check out LA14, no action at all there at the moment though. The society "Art of War" was holding it calmly and seemed to have a nice time chatting and chilling out. However they were always on their toes and wiped rather quickly out any threat, in form of enemy scouts, that came in sight. Apparently some of the guys there was starting to get bored, so suddenly they started to shoot down neutrals like myself that were standing around the claim :D I ended up back in Nate Valley again, where I found lots of Warants and M2Ss warriors that were gearing up for an attack. Me and two other guys tried to trap Skalman in a corner to keep him away from the fight... ... unfortunately he had a TP chip... not much of a surprise really :D As I had seen a lot of warriors in Nate Valley, I was certain something was soon going to happen to the AoW claim I just had been to. So I once again ran over there, hoping that I this time would see some action. Bummer! Still the old boring AoW coffee meeting going on at LA14. Apparently the war was going on at LA19! I quickly made my departure and headed northeast before some bored guy would decide to kill me... :) To be continued...
Now this is what I'm talking about! When I arrived to LA19 it was full carnage going on, lots of dead bodies, people running around, lasers and bullets swooshing through the air. The current claim holders cK Coat Killers were fighting well and were never really close to lose it during my time there. They also finished their 4 hours on the hill some 20 minutes after I got there. When the fight was over at LA19 it was still some time left on LA14, so I figured everyone should move over there instead to try winning over the claim from the AoW. It was just to start running again (I'm still not used to TP chipping) :D I made it to LA14 just in time to see the intense last 10 minutes of the fight. To my surprise the AoW's were still kings of the hill, but they sure had some problems. I took place in the safe zone by the fertilizer and saw cK getting very very close to be taking it over, and for a little while the claim started beeping as it was free to grab it from the owners. I saw my chance :D I jumped over the fence and started running like a madman, how cool wouldn't it be to have the EuTropians as claim owners!? (would only have been for one second at the most but still... :D) Only centimetres from the claim I fell. A well aimed Camo Arms Urban Stalker shot had it me in the back. So close. A few seconds later AoW were the claim owners again. (Probably I would have been forced to stay alive for a few seconds to really get the claim. But still, I got very close... ;)) Lying on the ground I had an exclusive first row look on the dying moments of the landgrab. AoW was so close to lose it, but an heroic effort by Gusteen Gurre Stenhammer made them hold the claim until the time was up. For a while it was only him left with a lot of people shooting at him. He ran around there for a while constantly fapping himself and at last some fellow soc mates came to the rescue. Very cool event to watch from the side! I can't wait to be skilled enough to be able to participate 8)
Land grabs used to be kind of boring, dull events for the ordinary onlooker. Since the rocket launchers have been introduced and the societies have gotten bigger it is truly exciting to watch now. This is the "Ubers" at their best. After you watch them for a time you are in total awe of their skills. Gratz on the great coverage.
Nice report Una, and some great pictures. :ok: Well done on amost touching the claim marker, you must have felt like Neo from the Matrix dodging all those bullets as you ran. Oh and Gratz Tigeress for the argo global in there somewhere. :)
