not really sure i understand the purpose of this. i dont really like crap filling up C: drive if i have set the app to install to another. one benefit is its easier for tracker apps to know where the log is (i've just been thinking about how to solve this issue for mine), but then since its user name relative its probably no more easier maybe its to effectivly allow deletion as ET does without appearing to do so within the game directory, ie a veiled condoning of ETs (others?) behaviour?
A program requires admin rights to write to its own (!!!) program files subfolder, hence, applications running on vista and win7 should store user data in mydocs or a subfolder so you can run the application w/o admin rights... (and well, knowing that i.e. starfinders app extracts data from those files now instead of OCRing them from the game screen... yeah, made it mandatory somehow, so applications like his can access the data w/o elevating - or would YOU run an app written by starfinder or some other random guy in admin mode on your machine? i certainly wouldn't... ) /Edit: Locating the user subfolder for the active user is only a single OS function call... couldn't be easier.
