MSM MindArk Buys Back Calypso Land Deeds

Gothenburg, Sweden – October 26, 2012 — It was approximately one year ago that sixty-thousand (60,000) Calypso Land Deeds were offered at $100 USD each within Entropia Universe through the in-game auction system. The land deeds provide revenue sharing to participants so players can receive a share in the Planet Partner gross revenue of Planet Calypso.​

MindArk, the developer of Entropia Universe, and the largest Massively Multiplayer Online Real Cash Economy (or MMORCE), made an announcement today that to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Calypso Land Deed event, they are offering five-thousand (5000) deeds at $115 USD each. The first deeds will be made available again from the in-game auction on Thursday, November 1, 2012.

During the original Calypso Land Deed event approximately one year ago, a single investor acquired 25,000 land deeds, and MindArk was successful in negotiating a buyback of 5000 of those deeds. They will now be able to redistribute the deeds more evenly, and allow more players the opportunity to participate in the Planet Calypso revenue sharing.

“We are happy to have negotiated this excellent offer for our participants. As most of the 5000 deeds will be placed on the auction individually, we hope many more users will take the chance to be part of this ground breaking program,” said David Simmonds, CEO of MindArk.

Since their introduction eleven months ago, each of the 60,000 deeds has paid out $22.00 USD. This is a 24% annual return on the original investment of $100 USD per deed. Currently, deeds trade at $130 USD on the in-game auction, leaving an annual return of about 18% on investment. Based on the audited revenue sharing report published on October 24, 2012 for Planet Calypso from January – June 2012, the return to deed holders has totaled $708,573.00 USD.
